Re: Sekova - Fuzz ( FA-II , Apollo , Crestwood ) [schematic]

I'm guessing the big one labeled 224m50 is 224nf 50v, so i should look for .22uf. open to suggestions as to what type. and if anyone has a guess on the other two. i've done recapping before but never on a guitar pedal. according to the diagram posted above, the little green fuzzy one would be C10, ...

Re: Conn Multi-vider (Silverbox)

Here's a link to my homedrawn schematic and my notes regarding the soprano circuit. There's no clipping stage. I had some trouble with the soprano circuit as well when trying to use it as a guitar effect. Apparently I worked at balancing the soprano circuit frequency doubler (which is what it reall...

Re: Conn Multi-vider (Silverbox)

Also, the input impedance is extremely low, only 1,5 kilohm, killing even more of the already weak signal from a passive guitar pickup. The input impedance is in fact typical for mic preamp inputs, designed for standard professional microphone source impedance 50 or 200 ohms. If you were to plug you...

Re: Pearl - OD-05 ( Overdrive ) [schematic]

OK. So you have a 2,1V voltage drop across a 220 ohm resistor. Since all return current passes through this one resistor one can now calculate the total current draw as I = U/R = 2,1/220 = 9,55 mA. Seems reasonable currentwise (does it match specs?) but I can't see the benefit in lowering the V+ sup...

Re: Pearl - OD-05 ( Overdrive ) [schematic]

…and Yes, you can swap R28 and D2 for say two 10k resistors -then the op amp bias would always be V+/2 (for better headroom) whatever the supply voltage. I think the practice of using a zener in that position in the whole pedal line comes from the necessity of using a zener in that position in the F...

Re: Pearl - OD-05 ( Overdrive ) [schematic]

Green band = 5 Brown band = 1 I'd say it is a 5V1 zener. But like Dirk says, best way to be 100% certain would be to measure the voltage drop across the zener when it's back in circuit and powered up (keep in mind that actual voltage drop varies both with current and component tolerance if you happe...

Re: Systech - Harmonic Energizer [schematic]

Got this on the breadboard at the moment, sounds good. I used a 2N5457 for the input buffer which works fine, and didn't bother with any of the power related circuitry other than the 10k/10k/10uF volateg divider. I've also got a switch that puts either one or two pairs of antiparallel 1N4148s acros...

On the "Muff-sized" version, I just noticed the switch is on the back, between the jacks. btw grizzly, do you have any part values for the layout/schematic you posted?? 8) Nope, like I say in the post, I have only ever seen the drawing of the PCB solder side mentioned in the post (and lat...

Re: Maestro - The Sustainer [schematic]

I haven't seen the blob in question. From the pictures that I've seen all three versions used two 9V batteries but it is possible that some of the SS-1's presented on eBay has been upgraded or modified I guess (SS-1 cover and SS-2 innards?). Here's pics of the three versions, notice same version bl...

Re: Maestro - The Sustainer [schematic]

Not much more to go. The ICs are Fairchild U6A7757393. Couldn't find any info on the interwebs on those. The transistors are 2N5133 and 2N3565. Update: one IC is a U6A7757393. The other is a U6A7723393, which seems to be a 723 voltage regulator. Since it's a U6A7 723 393, I thought the other might ...

Yeh, grizzly, that's what I thought too (layout vs schematic). strangly, I thought I've seen that schemo before. gonna search my compressor archives. hey, thanks for those "blob" pics!!!! The first blob looks like it's in a Muff chassis(?) I see 2 9Vers in the 2nd pic. I make out 2 9V con...

Yep. That's the one PCB layout I was refering to in my post with the guesswork schematic. Thanks for the clarification.

grizzly, that blob that Ron has looks like only 1 9V connector :hmmm: He also said it was in the same box as the ebay unit. T I didn't get the box with the block so I may be wrong on that. I haven't seen the blob in question. From the pictures that I've seen all three versions used two 9V batteries...
