Tremulus Lune - identifying which PCB-maker ('E3'? 'MM'?)

Tremulus Lune - identifying which PCB-maker ('E3'? 'MM'?) Got a broken tremolo pedal in, it's most likely a version of the Tremulus Lune. Pots: Smooth/Sym/Speed/Depth/Space (1) TL072, (1) 4558 and (1) Xvive vactrol, one green dot, so probably a 5C2. The PCB is marked with 'Tremolo v.1' and has a kin...

Re: Danelectro - DSR-1 Spring King ( dead links )

Thanks for sharing! I have a broken unit, haven't repaired it yet. This sure comes in handy. So the "volume" is (in 'Fender Reverb Unit Speak') actually a "dwell", didn't know that. [edit]Assuming the slapback & reverb mix-portions are both increased when turning the "re...

Re: Boss GE-7 Mods

Got an old GE-7 in today, the type still using the ACA adaptor. Needs some work, as was announced - but surprisingly the freq-sliders don't have any freq-selective effect. Looking inside, no messing around or after-fab soldering as it seems.... but I found the gyrator-opamps all three being the TI N...

Re: Behringer - UV300 Ultra Vibrato

Thanks for the circuit-snippet! Do you perhaps also know the location of the C1 cap that influences the rise-timeconstant? In the original VB-2 that is C26 (6.8 uF/16V), and while the UV300 already seems to use 10uF according to your traced circuit, it might be increased a bit further to my taste, s...

Re: Carl Martin - Quattro [schematic]

What's going on with the bridge rectifier in the opamp loop? And is D1 a Zener? It's not too uncommon, thought to have seen it in Marshall (tube!) amps form long ago already as well, and they might not have been the first. Just follow the direction of the diode-arrows for a positive signal, and the...

Re: Radial Bigshot PB1 Class A Power Booster [schematic]

Are Q4 and Q5 some kind of weird darlington arrangement? They form another two transistor combination, the so called Complimentary Feedback Pair, a.k.a. Sziklai, more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complementary_feedback_pair (doesn't matter one of them here is a FET iso BJT as shown in the wi...

I share your feeling that this schematic looks a bit puzzling, or drawn unintuitively, or potentially wrong on some spots.
But good to have it, thanks!

Re: Lets get the TSs done!

Received the purple Nady version, so I can answer a few of my own questions now  Some observations, FWIW: * The stompswitch is indeed an unlatching type (on which the circuitry at the lower left corner of the PCB already hinted actually) * They use a cumbersome internal bracket to mount the pot...

Re: Lets get the TSs done!

Thanks for posting the Ashton/Nady guts.

Good to hear the case-top is metal as well. I just bought the purple Nady version.

Hey that's surprising, the metal switch and not being true bypass. OK, it'll be a simpler switch then... just a SPST-push type? Is there enough room for a 3PDT ?

Thanks!

Re: Behringer FCV-100 Volume Pedal

Speaking of the FCV100, I was surprised to notice crackling when operating the pedal. Thought this wouldn't happen with a pedal that uses VCA's for the volume control, but it did crackle... Looking at the schematic, R26, R28, C6 are filtering the wiper of the controlling pot VR2B... and R23, R22, C1...

Re: Behringer fcv100

This is quite old, but I'll post for reference. I guess the loss of tone is due its relatively low input impedance of 300k (according the manual). I think one can workaround it by changing the 330k R12 and R13 resistors to 1MOhm. Hi, As it was described, it won't work to raise the input impedance. ...

Interesting they use dual pots while the schematic doesn't require them....

possibly duals for mechanical reasons ?

Re: Peavey Backstage Plus 35W Guitar Amp

FWIW: having a Backstage 30 and a later Backstage (coloured knobs, reverb, satur.-circ.) side by side, it's interesting/boring/(ir)relevant to see the changes they've made: -to my surprise the cabinet height of the latter is slightly less. -the alu side-trims on the baffle are smaller for the latter...

Re: Peavey Backstage Plus 35W Guitar Amp

from Hotrox (hotroxuk.com) The amp has arrived, pots are indeed a bit scratchy, but all functional, so hope just some spraying will do for now. Thanks for the Hotrox-info, might come in handy... Might be good that I have a look already for a spare saturation-pot since that'll be the most difficult ...

Re: Peavey Backstage Plus 35W Guitar Amp

Hi,

Curious if you managed to find that non-standard dual pot for the saturation-position?
Have a 'non-Plus' Backstage upcoming which uses the same pot, and it seems to be scratchy...

Thanks

Re: Boss - DI-1 Direct Box [schematic]

I also found out that there is an error in the original design. There is switch to swap the inverting and non-inverting line on the XLR connection but when the switch is in 'normal' position it is actually inverted (pin 2 normally carries the 'hot' non-inverted signal). But maybe that is different ...

no reason to spend time reversing it,its 35 used in my country. For fun?for 35 bucks you can have much more fun with other activities... I understand what you say, valid remark. But reversing also serves the purpose of understanding what's going on in the circuit, to learn from it. That sounds like...
