Re: Adding bass & treble controls
I like to add a simple low pass filter near the end of the circuit for treble, with usually a high resistor value around 100k and a small cap to ground like .0022 or .0047 with a B50 pot to ground to form the filter. For bass, I usually like a pot that goes between .01 and .068 near the beginning of...

Re: BBE Soul Vibe Mod Gone Wrong
Look exactly at the spots you touched on the board with your soldering iron. You could actually apply a solder wick to de solder them, and Re apply solder to them, even if they look okay. If you have a schematic, make sure everything is lined up right. Make sure you didn't bridge any solder panels t...

Re: Help me out with this pedal design
Awesome! That 3K to ground at the end would be the single most cause of volume reduction from the circuit. If you bump that up maybe 10k or 20k you'd get maybe "technically" a 20-100hz difference cut, but what you would hear is A LOT more output. Again, that's up to you! Great pedal design...

Re: Help me out with this pedal design
I think you meant 680R on the transistors emitter. The only thing I would add, is another identical gain stage with unity gain (47k emitter resistor) just so that it doesn't flip the polarity of the guitar. This is just personal preference of course, as a single gain stage inverts the signal.

Re: Modding a CE-2 to be able to get wet signal only
If you want a switch, my guess from looking at the CE2 schematic would be using a SPDT On-On switching R21 (47K) in and out of the circuit. In the circuit for partial wet/dry and out of the circuit for complete wet

Does this pedal flip the signal or phase ? Or is it technically in phase ?

Maybe a pot wired as a variable resistor in series with the bigger cap, i.e. An input cap blend pot.

Re: Help A Noob With A Circuit?
Another suggestion: Since the 4.7uf Cap has a certain sound (to my ears its kindof gritty) try putting a .047uf in parallel with it, it will give a more focused sound. IMO this will help live, or recording with note definition.

The LEDs should be lighting at the same time, all the time. You might have the LEDs going both the same way. Try flipping on of them around. Also check to see you used the right value resistors, and everything is connected right.

Re: Mad Professor - Deep Blue Delay [traced]
So I've built up two of these and they have the same problem: The initial delay repeat is as loud as it should be, but subsequent repeats are rather low in volume. I used Mark's layout. Any ideas as to what is causing this? Anyone? Try using smaller caps between Pin 16 & 15 and 14 & 13. You...

Re: passive overdrive circuit? (no power) new Stew-Mac modul
a few different diodes, I suppose Two diodes hookup from your pickup signal to ground, controlled by how hot your pickups are, determines the cut off voltage of the signal of the diodes. Hotter pickups, more clipping. Controlled also by the A250K pot, but I would use a B250K If I ever went about it.

Yeah guys, sorry for the rough pics, he said his camera could not capture the details. I'm sure your right about the "M" pot replacing the resistor circled in red.

Re: Bearfoot FX SYOD 2 (Schematic, Gutshots) [traced]
Heres some ideas from the actual website on the M knob - "It was 3 knobs but it also had the lowmids control attached to the drive knob in reverse - so you got a beefier clean/low dirt sound and it tightened up for higher dirt settings. The new M control does all of this but also lets you use i...

Re: Bearfoot FX SYOD 2 (Schematic, Gutshots) [traced]
Tough crowd. I'm guessing the "M" knob is a A1M like used in the Sky Blue's "z" or resonance control, or its like a B5k used in the clipping section between the 220N to change where the distortion lies in the mids.

Had a buddy in Cali send me some pics. Can't see the resistor values perfectly, but he gave me the cap values and basically it's a tweaked Dyna Red.

Math can be cruel,
but using the same JFET, circuit B should have a tad more gain. Just the way its set up.

Re: BJFE - SBEQ [Tracer's Fund] [traced]
To clear up any unwanted clipping issues, just play with some resistor values in series with C5 and C6 to limit gain. Try 4k7 through 14k7. Or you can even try putting a C50K pot in series with them for gain controls.

Re: Passive splitter box? Help?
All you need is 3 Mono (no need for a stereo) jacks. Jack 1 with the Tip (hot) splitting two wires going to Jack 2 Tip and Jack 3 tip. Then connect Jack 1 Sleeve (ground) to Jack 2 and Jack 3 ground and you'll be done.
