Re: Fake 6l6gc's
Those 6p3c tubes actually sound pretty good if you use them within their ratings. I've made a few amps that run around 400v on the plates give or take and these tubes hold up fine if they're biased properly. Only rated for 20 watts on the plate sort of like a 6l6GB or similar. I seem to remember the...

Re: JHS/EHX Lizard Queen
Here's my 1590A version if anyone's interested. Fair warning, you should have some PCB etching and 1590A build skills before attempting. C10 is a tight squeeze, I used a 4x7mm electrolytic. C7 is a ceramic 0.1uF for space reasons again. Also I prefer a 100p cap for C6 and a 100KC reverse log pot for...

Re: Skreddy - Mayo
Here's mine, like it on the scooped side, so dropped the switch, and added a touch of mids to the scooped setting. My favorite skreddy muff. used 2n5089s and sounds wicked.

Re: Schumann PLL [traced]
The fuzz section alone works great on the 7660s chip with +/- 9v. Here's a pic of the second one I did:

Re: Mammoth Electronics issue
I haven't had any serious issues so far. Had to wait an extra few weeks when the blue sparkle powder coating was back ordered, but no biggie. Was actually thinking about ordering a bunch of those 'pro' series switches soon for all my builds from now on.

Re: Schumann PLL [traced]
Here's a few more pics of the trace and the PCB trace sides. Of course I didn't take pics of the topsides, but no worries I'll get them. I did a one off of the fuzz section with a charge pump and it sounds almost identical to the original. One more note, I mislabeled the trigger and preamp knobs on ...

Re: Schumann PLL [traced]
I might have goofed on the resistor values, I thought they were weird too. My buddy still has his so I can get him to confirm. I'm pretty sure I got the board to board connections right, but I haven't breadboarded anything but the fuzz section which works fine, so I'll dig up the trace pics and we'l...

Re: Schumann PLL [traced]
Well, since the cat's out of the bag I might as well share my trace that I did from a friends unit a little while ago. Was waiting to do a proper digital schematic, but the one here looks the same as mine with a few different resistor and cap values. My buddies unit had no goop, but was the biggest ...

Re: Malekko Plus Ultra 213 Guts
Little late but finally finished tracing. Is indeed a tweaked muff into a ross phaser with a pot to the reference voltage instead of an LFO. Super cool pedal, only thing is it's non-true bypass stock and sucks tone worse than an old crybaby wah. Piece of cake fix though, there's 3pdt switches in the...

Re: Just stepped in it! 2n5133's
I will at some point.. They are just so damn expensive out there right now and I got them so cheep so I have to think hard about what I would charge. I have enough to go into business making v1 and v2 muffs for ever LOL. I will probably kull off some and bang them out here in the next couple of wee...

Re: Pimp (and help fix) my Transtube Bandit!
I had one of the crappier versions as my first 'good' amp. Used to run the neck humbucker on my squier supersonic into it with a danelectro daddy-o for years, and that was the only amp that pedal sounded good through. I bet a woolier sounding speaker would tame the harsh.

Re: Frantone - Vibutron [traced]
Few months later and I finally got an 8038 from small bear, plugged it in and nothing's working, uhh. Then I started fooling around with some wires, and bang the thing starts working. As long as I connected the 9v+ to pin 8 only and not pin 6 like you're supposed to, it works perfectly. Everything d...

Re: Where to buy - tags for tagboard makers
That would be totally cool if you could find some of those, I love that style of tagboard. Never seen anything like it for sale though, other than ground lugs that would need to be seriously modded to work on a board like eyelets.

Re: Frantone - The Sweet [traced]
Throw it on the bread board with any old low gain NPN and see which set of resistors sounds best. Extra mojo points for using an old button tranny like the 2n3565. Thought we agreed to never speak of Q4 again.
