TEFI Vintage Lab Golden Era lo-fi machine
Came across one of these used in NL, for big bucks, so I was intrigued (sceptic) to see what makes it tick. Apparently they are not made anymore. TEFI has a gut shot on their website, but I found one for sale with legible markings on two IC's. BBD based (like the Fairfield Circuitry shallow water). ...

Re: TC Electronic XII Phaser replacement ICs
If it is a quad opamp, it might be the same pinout as rc4136, you might try and that looks plausible from tracing part of the pcb, for instance power supply connections, they go to the end if it's a similar pinout, and to the middle if it's the modern pinout.

Have you tried a different power supply (battery?)?

Re: TC Electronic XII Phaser replacement ICs
Was that the quad opamp with off-standard pinout? IIRC it was old but you could do a modern opamp on an adapter board to change the pinout (if there's room for it).
Maybe a place like the electronic goldmine still has them?

Interested in the schematic for this pedal, is it very different from the original?

Re: Jules Ryckenbusch, Balanced EQ Line Driver, EQ magazine, August 1993
How complex would you want it? And do you need balanced outputs? As instrument input, I can wholeheartedly recommend the FET circuit from Ray Marston from https://kk5na.com/FETs%20PT2.htm The circuit in figure 8 This is single supply Most of the balanced outputs I built are in eurorack format so I c...

Re: Jules Ryckenbusch, Balanced EQ Driver, EQ magazine, August 1993
That implementation with the SSM2142 is a bit too barebones, IMHO. The datasheet mentions some resistors from the outputs to ground, and possibility of adding caps to the sense pins. Also, in a board I did I added big electrolytics to the powerlines. And that is excluding a protection against accide...

A lot going on
Indeed also interested in the behaviour of that servo biased FET, did you do any isolated simulation of that section of the schematic?

Re: The truth about Victory amps...
A little bit shady indeed, and the fact that he was so opaque about the involvement of Lee Anderton seems to not be accidental, I think he was instructed to do so. Not sure why, Thomann has plenty of house brands, and they are doing OK with this, uncertain why Lee would keep this under wraps. "...

including the die for that custom enclosure. That enclosure is very very cool, I like also how you've made that little inlay plate so you can use it for various products, easier to engrave/machine than a complete enclosure too. I like the "brutalist" style Here's the stage to play that pe...

Re: MXR - Phase 100 [schematic]
I want to pursue an idea of having a digital non cyclic lfo (or at least, less obviously so) in a Phase 100 circuit, but I do not want to touch the diy one I did years ago. Does anyone here have gerbers for a board? Ultimately I'll roll my own with the ATTiny Lfo onboard, but it would be goid to do ...

Re: Death by Audio - Echo Master (gut shots)
Use a full size 5v regulator, so LM7805 rather than LM78l05, that one caught me out at a few implementations of the PT2399 already. Also, why use 2 transformers for a balanced output, I mean a transformer balanced output can add a certain "something" to the sound, just not sure if these te...

Re: MXR M114 Stereo 10 Band EQ
Either a transformer with a smaller stray field (toroid), or some kind of mu metal shielding. I had a Dean Markley guitar amp which had the transformer right up against the spring reverb, causing reverb to hum, so I moved that to all the way down in the (combo) enclosure, is there more room in the M...

Maybe also get rid of the tantalum, and bypass the electrolytics with filmcaps? Tack caps on the power pins of each opamp to ground?
Wat values are the carbon resistors?

Pretty cool!
Even though I am quite enthusiastic about Eagle, it is excellent that this is qavailable on Android, as I only have a business laptop at the moment, keen to have a go with this CAD-E SW!

Re: Alembic filter preamp PF-6
We have that stuff as well, stripping it is a real PITA, at least the stuff that we have here. Those inline connectors are interesting as well, but knowing Alembic, probably heinously expensive (and I wonder if these are meant for this type of cable and thus lend themselves to proper crimping). Also...
