Re: Frantone - Vibutron [traced]
Hi guys...I'm having a hard time with this, I built it twice, it does not work...I built it from scratch the second time...EXACTLY the same sympthoms as the first I can hear the LFO ticking, the IC does something as far as ticking goes, the switches do something to the ticking, pots as well The onl...

Verified! Built this a week ago and need to box it up.
Sounds killer with the Tele I got on Christmas.
Thanks for the layout, Storyboardist!
Now hoping a pcb layout for the Chicken Soup pops up.

Hey Dime! Just built this up using your layout and recommended chips...... kicks ass!
Didn't need the gate switch, because I decided to make the gate control external. Real glad you designed this for a 125-b, my favorite box.
Thanks for sharing your layout!

Thanks for revisiting this circuit! I had a go at it on the breadboard some years back, but for some reason I didn't commit to a build. I think I'll give it another shot and try some of those tricks. I wish I knew what John over at Basic Audio added to his version of this pedal...... it sounds extra...

Sorry to say I built the Faultline years ago and was disappointed I couldn't really match the demo of the real thing. Seemed like not enough gain from what I remember.

Re: Tone Freak - Severe [gut shots, notes]
Sorry to bring up old thread, but does anybody know how the single mosfet clipper that replaced the asymetrical diodes in the later version is implemented? I'm thinking it's by itself with the gate and drain tied together on one end and the source leg on the side. Just confused because I expected a ...

Re: Need help trouble shooting MOD 102 amp kit.
Not much experience with building amps, but I'm guessing something isn't right with your pre-amp tube connections? Is it lighting up? You should have have heater pin voltage somewhere on it (Iforget which one).
EDIT:
Heater pins on preamp are 5 and 9..... should be around 6 volts or so.

it should work..i use 10k pot and 0.22uF..provide a clean repeats at 1 second delay time I just built this up from Madbean's "Sea Urchin" pcb layout. Where did you splice in your tone control? I tried it off lug 3 of the mix pot and works, but affects the "Feedback" by reducing ...

Well, in the video the JHS guy said he worked up the circuit himself after fallin' in love with Supro amps. I believe ROG took a time machine into the future and stole his circuit design. Just a theory I'm putting out there.

Sorry to see you have not had a response, but a schematic will be needed before you can get help, I think. Maybe at least board shots will get someone to chime in.

Re: Creepy Fingers - Fuzzbud [traced]
Hi Noc - What I did was use the 100k wired as a variable resistor in series with the 3.3nf cap between volume pot lug 2 and ground, where the 2nf cap is on your diagram. No volume loss when turning down, but doesn't get the full brightness all the way up. Can't decide which I'll go with.... but I'm ...

Re: Creepy Fingers - Fuzzbud [traced]
Also, I'm finding it pretty bright, so I'm experimenting with a simple 100k tone control bleeding some highs off through a 3n3 cap right before the volume pot. Sounds pretty good. Actually, it cuts a bit of treble even all the way up. It works great for the bridge pickup, but I'd like to get the fu...

Re: Creepy Fingers - Fuzzbud [traced]
Finally got this built up using Nocentelli's vero layout. My Fuzzbud build (using PN2n2222's 145/170 hfe) had a bit of a raspy buzz, which actually makes it raunchier than a normal FF. There is a bit of fizz as the note(s) decay a bit more abrupt than a FF as well..... definitely has it's own charac...

On my latest order with them I finally bit and ordered up a 100 pieces of their 2n3904 transistors to check out (1 cent each!!). I was disappointed to find the hfe on all of 'em was around 300 hfe.... a lot higher than I was expecting. The 2n5089's were where I like 'em at 450 hfe average, though. B...

Might be time to finally make a layout for Gus Smalley's "Another Sick Fuzz". I've been wanting to build it for years after putting together the "Octave Up Sick Box".

Input may need to be grounded when bypassed to stop bleed through. The video demo sounds like a Scrambler on steroids.... very good!
