Need schematic for Eden Nemesis NC200 combo amp
Hi all, anyone have a schematic for a Eden Nemesis NC200 from around 1996 or so? Was able to buy a well worn one from a friend and it has a few weird noises. I can't find anything but schematics for the WT series. And Eden won't send schematics to customers. Thanks for any and all help!

Re: Nocturne Brain Seltzer Classic [traced]
On a somewhat unrelated note, on the pics of the actual unit, the builder got all busy with the silicone goop. At a previous employer, they claimed that the silicone is able to creep over time into connectors, and can cause connector failures. I wouldn't use the stuff near an IC socket for that reas...

same diode arrage inside this hi-end preamp... :secret: ooops,,,, http://www.drtube.com/schematics/marshall/jmp1-61-04.pdf I could never understand how some guys can make those JMP-1 units sound great, others not so much. Best I've heard (that I know of) is when Janick Gers (Iron Maiden) uses one, ...

Re: Fulltone GT-500
FWIW, several things: 1) I have never seen a 3 layer board in 22 years of PCB design. The fab houses I have worked with discourage this, they insist on multiples of 2 layers unless you get a single sided board. This probably has something to do with the available materials to build a board stack wit...

I'm surprised no one has added the 2.2M resistor across the input to prevent popping. I suppose you could add a switching jack to take the 2.2M out of the circuit to disconnect the resistor when the cord is plugged in to preserve the purity of the signal. Anyone heard of the Tice Clock?? h...

Re: Menatone None More Black [gut shots] [traced]
I'm sure you could make somewhat of a case that the perfboard reduces the leakage between eyelets and improves the tone (as compared to regular FR4 sheets), but some folks might giggle a bit at that. I sure would. What does "leakage between eyelets" mean? I've built several circuits on ey...

Re: Menatone None More Black [gut shots] [traced]
The eyelet construction is kind-of their trademark. It allows reliable and predictable point-to-point construction in a small space. But I don't know why they use the perfboard, other than it's a signature as well. They must use a hole punch to make the eyelet holes, as drilling large holes in perfb...

Nuvistors, wow... I built a phono preamp for my stereo using 6CW4's. Nice single section triodes, with the following interesting characteristics: 1) They are indeed tiny, which is probably why they are using them here as clippers. They are getting expensive though, and the filaments will kill a batt...

Re: Cornish P-2 guts
Very interesting read, the earlier post of the review of the Cornish boxes. I didn't know off the shelf unsealed Alpha pots were considered high reliability. And that stuff on the board looks like simple conformal coating, not an attempt to hide the circuit. The whole box (with several exceptions su...

Re: Landgraff "short signal path" theory
Agreed on how it won't make a huge difference in a stompbox. If he cared about this hi-fi stuff, he'd use solid silver teflon insulated wire, hermetically sealed RF relays in place of footswitches, get rid of all electrolytics, silver solder, gold plated connectors, non-magnetic component leads, tef...

Re: Bixonic - Expandora [traced]
I guess you need to desolder the jack before can take out the PCB.... I suppose so. I don't understand why they would build it that way; but looking at it, I can see how the jacks may have been installed first, and then the board soldered to them. Actually that's a very good and reliable way (maybe...

Those small resistors are very neat. Does anybody know where I can buy them in Europe? Those look like standard 1/8W resistors. You should be able to get them at most any electronics supplier. Years ago Philips Beyschlag used to make very nice small metal film resistors like that. They have since b...

Thanks for the replies. It is a DS-1 with the inline dual op amp. Looks like it is time to skywire methinks.

Possible to damage an op amp so it sounds bad but works?
Has anyone seen any examples of op amps in distortion boxes being damaged so that they sound bad but still amplify? I have a Boss Distortion that I put the Keeley Seeing Eye mods into, but now it sounds very splatty. I triple checked the mods and checked voltages, but everything looks OK. It would b...

Re: H&K Red Box [schematic]
I've got one of the current issue Red Box Classics, it works very well and is a handy tool. I mainly use it as a spare "amp", you can plug a pedalboard into the Line In and use the speaker emulation to get you through a gig. It also works well giving speaker emulation to tube guitar preamp...

Judging from the pot values I'd guess he has a Marshall tone stack in it.

It looks to me like Cornish started doing the pedalboard designs LONG before anyone else was doing them, and got a reputation for very high quality stuff that works well, sounds good and will withstand the road. His rep is what brings the bucks, and continues to bring him the business he has. What's...

I think the concept of this thing is alright... it serves a useful purpose, but well... I'm with unbeliever on this; any attempt at patenting this would be a waste of money. It would be thrown out as soon as it was challenged. A patent is only as valuable as its ability to be defended. It's really ...

Guys, I don't get it. Gil designed a pedal that does things people like, and charging them what they are willing to pay for it. The only upset people I can see are those that see a schematic and know enough about electronics to see there is a high price/parts ratio in the thing. Any of us that would...

Re: CAE Sound preamp CB2 - The one in the Warren Haynes Les Paul [traced]
Thinking about the high current draw and unity gain, do you think they are doing the trick of loading down the output stage so it operates in class A? That might make sense with small signals such as from a guitar. I can't recall off the top of my head if you can do this trick with a single supply o...
