I bet it is a passive buffer
Probally a 50k pot after input jack to fuzzes input, sort of like the internal 50k trim pot on the Sunface.

Re: JHS - Bender [traced]
The video of the whole range has him saying he spent ages trying and tinkering to get the Ge sound out of Si and after endless testing, it turns out that these two decades old schems had it exactly right back then - who knew? i like the fact he's doing cool retro pedals with a nice sounding circuit...

Funny thing, I put something in the YouTube post about the circuit and it was immediately deleted LOL I mean like within 2 minutes! did it contain a link? if yes it’s a normal process. happened to me a few times No link! I just mentioned what the circuit is. I guess Josh did not want to reveal on t...

Re: BBE - Windowpane [schematic]
moved the gut shots into this thread Thanks for all the info. but please enlighten on the polarity of C8? "normally" the signal should pass through an electrolytic cap on the +/pos leg first then head "downstream" through the circuit from the -/neg leg of the cap. I've seen this...

Re: Effective, safe and lasting method against scratchy pots
Not a very attractive solution, considering how much the value of a vintage pedal is lost due to changed components. I get your point and it would be fine with a modern pedal. For the old one i would at least do my best to prolong good function of the old pots and am therefore wondering about the b...

2N3904 tend to be too hot. 2N2222 works better. Gains in the 150 to 180 range, with Q4 and Q5 matched. If you can find 2N2219's, even better. matched pair for Q4 and Q5 cause more of the upper octave thing? I made one of these years ago, seems to work good but I would like to revisit this pedal and...

https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/thermionic-deluxe/ Yep, saw that yesterday and got on the email notification. Curious if the channels are going to be identical, or if one channel will be lower gain like the original. Would be cool to have the option of two BE circuits, or two DS, OR one DS/one BE....

I made one of these with a pcb I did on OSHPARK and it is not noisy at all... pedal rocks in fact. No oscillation at all and I am using the 1N5817 diodes all the way around, red LEDS. Was using it today thru a Mesa Lonestar classic and it gets that nice krang thing going :applause: Tossed a clone of...

That's awesome!Manfred wrote:I have tried various transitors the MPSA18 base-emitter diode gave the best match with the MA858 Diode.
So can the MA856 replaced by the MPSA18 base-emitter diode.
Save your money and go the base-emitter route of MPSA18s
