Re: Catalinbread - WIIO
Here's a 'gut-shot' of a friends. He wouldn't let me have a better crack at it. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2526/4166835857_577acdeb42_b.jpg To my ears it sounded like a thicker DLS with more happening in the lower-mids and less top end. We A-B'd the two pedals and it was very easy in the lower ...

Indeed. I don't know why they wouldn't try 4001 diodes or LEDs for clipping in the first stage instead of the transistors.Greg_G wrote:Very Muff'ish indeed.

I use the one from General Guitar Gadgets.fuckyourmom wrote:Is there a "standard" general big muff schematic that everyone uses? If so when I draw up the final schematic I'll follow a similar part numbering, etc as that if I can.

Re: Catalinbread - SFT
I can't comment on how it works with passive guitars since I haven't used my guitar with it yet. But depending how hot your signal is coming in, you're not going to get breakup until around noon or 1 o'clock. Below breakup, on bass, you get a classic Ampeg B-15 sound. I'm not sure how that would tra...

Re: BJF - Honey Bee Overdrive degooped [traced]
Well I've spent a good part of the week first building the final version of the Yellow Shark, then attempted the vero 1.7 on perf board, then on vero strip board, and couldn't get either of the later to work, from probably overheating the re-used parts. So I went back and populated the YS board wit...

Pretty much all of Brad's pedals are clones. (They were last last time I checked).

Re: Catalinbread - SFT [traced]
Hi, I'm planning to build this for the bass player in my band. Has anybody tried this thing out with active and passive-pickups on bass, yet? Would it make sense to replace the input resistor with a 100KB-Pot to add some sort of Pre-Gain control. He's playing a 5-string Ibanez with active PUs and l...

Re: EH - Bass Big Muff
Pop off the knobs and unscrew the nuts on the outside. Do this for the jacks as well and the whole board with pop right out.

That's exactly what it's marketed as (for bass).soulsonic wrote:Looks like it's most likely a Green Russian Muff with blend circuit.

Re: EH - Bass Big Muff
Well the top section of that board is clearly the standard four stage Big Muff circuit. They even screened the values for each component. The IC section must be for the blend and other functions(?).

SMD components don't scare me!

BUMP!
Sure it's another Big Muff circuit but I'm curious how all the extra features are executed.

Re: Fender Sub-Lime Fuzz (Sublime)
There's probably a bit of circuitry (somewhat) outside of the signal path for changing colors of the dial knob. I don't know if it is buffered or not.

I'm not a fan of those 1/4" jacks either. Anyway, guesses based on the shots? An actual original circuit?

Thanks for the vero. Electronix is coming back. This circuit was based on a Mesa tube amp which was a copy of an old Fender.
