Re: A Switching Scheme [documentation]
I figure the jacks and the switches take the most abuse, so I use good quality parts there. Carling switches and Neutrik jacks. I can find Carling SPST switches for about $7 locally (no shipping anyways) That is the best price I have found. Tayda has cheaper switches but I am not sure of the qualit...

Where are you guys finding good prices on latching SPST switches? Smallbear wants $7 a pop for the Carling ones!

Re: Electro-Harmonix: The Freeze (Gut Shots for fun)
Super old thread, but I figured I'd add my experience, as I just added an effects loop and expression pedal out for this bad boy. Here's a video demo: [youtube][youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYr2M8YvTXs?hd=1[/youtube][/youtube] The suggestion of cutting the connection to the wiper of the l...

I loved my FSH-1, but it quickly got replaced on my board by the Snow White Auto Wah I built. That said, I want to box it up again...thanks for reminding me!

I love where this is going, guys! I might have to try that vero layout from a page back.
Great circuit CJ! If you end up with any more boards for it I'm definitely game.

BYOC was having the same errors this week so I was worried it was some kind of conspiracy. I guess the time is just right for spilling beer on the servers!

Re: getting parts in Canada?
I'm in Toronto and when local shops don't have what I need I pretty much go with Tayda (taydaelectronics.com), as they have a ton of stuff at just about the cheapest around. Shipping might not always be super fast though... Otherwise I've had success with Small Bear and Mouser too. Welcome to Canada...

You kidding? :D Show the trace side, pretty please Any marking on the transformer? Crap. Sorry Sinner, I was going to take better pictures this weekend, but a guy came and bought it from me today as soon as I got home from work. Wasn't even time to get the back off! I've got a funky fuzz on loan fr...

I've got a Chicago Iron Octavian Plus prototype (confirmed as #6/25 by Chicago Iron and signed inside) that I'm not sure what to do with...I've built a billion fuzzes already, so it doesn't get played. You guys seem to have a handle on the schemo (as it's all over the internet), so no need to trace,...

Re: Paul Cochrane - Tim pedal [traced]
This is a great thread, guys. I honestly opened it half expecting a dust-up because it's dissecting a pedal designed and sold by another member, but wow, paulc is a stand-up guy. I've only seen 2 builders as forthcoming and generous with their info: Paul and Doug Deeper. Makes me want to tell the wo...

Re: Blackstone Appliances - MOSFET OD (2SV3.12) [ goop-alar [traced]
Looks like C11 might be fun to mess with to this end (Madbean's layout does mention this, and the vero layout has it socketed, which I did...thankfully). Ah, nevermind. C11 only affects the humbucker side of the red channel (ie, the side that already sounds different...). Oh well, worth a shot. I m...

Re: Blackstone Appliances - MOSFET OD (2SV3.12) [ goop-alar [traced]
I don't think the channels are meant to sound different. Did you use a 1meg pot for one of the gain pots? Should give you more gain in one of the channels. I think the way to use this pedal is to set one channel as an OD, and the other as lead with the volume and gain set higher. Yeah, that's sort ...

Re: Blackstone Appliances - MOSFET OD (2SV3.12) [ goop-alar [traced]
Finally boxed mine up the other day. Having a lot of fun with it--great pedal! That said, I find that the two channels sound pretty much the same when dimed (with the "red" channel set to single coil--all the way right). Do you think there is a way to differ the two a little more (maybe ch...

Re: escobedo's uglyface video demo
the ugly face is more versatile. i built a pwm, you can get all the same sounds with the ugly face and more if ya add the lfo option. i still haven't boxed up the pwm. cool pedal, i did some mods to it and found ways to make it into a legit booster/od as well as pulse width pedal...do a search on d...
