Re: Schaller Tremolo / Hearthrob Tremolo
changing the caps didnt do anything. HOWEVER... changing the input resistor to a 180K took away the pop. I did notice a little bit of dirt with a lot of attack when the original resistor (47K) was still in place, but the 180K seems to have pulled the majority of that out as well.

Re: Schaller Tremolo / Hearthrob Tremolo
thanks. Im swapping the caps right now. hopefully that will take care of it. I usually try to use poly film caps but since this is the first tremolo Ive built, I just used what was on the layout. I appreciate the help.

Re: Schaller Tremolo / Hearthrob Tremolo
Thanks for the reply. It pops by itself as well as in the chain with other effects. I havent tried it with my tuner that is buffered, but Im pretty confident that it wont make a difference. That is what I could figure that the problem/solution is as well at this point. The caps are new, but I guess ...

Re: Schaller Tremolo / Hearthrob Tremolo
Built this yesterday and it works great... except for the horrible switch pop. Its built to the Heartthrob layout. 3pdt swith, no led. Has anyone else had this result? Ive tried throwing a 1.5m resistor between the neg leads and ground of both the input and output caps, but it didnt change anything....

Thanks. Thats what I noticed when I compared it to Derik's layout, but wasnt sure if it would make a difference. Back to the iron...

Re: Hermida Audio - Zendrive [ goop-alarm ] [traced]
alright, I built one of these from the layout below. It was really dark and muffled so I changed C3 to a 22nF and C7 to a .1uF. The results are pretty much the same. I have noticed that the "Voice" pot only makes a difference past 3 o'clock. Also, I can remove the 2N7000's completely and i...

Re: etching without chemicals
Im a big fan of the muriatic/peroxide solution. 2 parts H202 to 1 part HCl(Muriatic). It works a lot better at room temperature than Ferric Chloride. I usually use the disposable (inexpensive) rubbermade food containers. One to etch in and one to store "spent" solution in until I can dispo...

I realized that I had used 'call1800ksmyazz's layout. the parts list on that one has quite a few differences (i.e. cap values are much higher than Deriks). I'll try swapping some caps out and see what happens.

Re: Hermida Audio - Zendrive [ goop-alarm ] [traced]
I just built the Zendrive clone from Derik's layout and put it next to my real Zendrive. The original is a LOT brighter than the clone. What components can I change to brighten this up? I sounds really good and breaks up about the same as the Zen, but its just so dark. Any ideas? fwiw.. I used a 455...
