Re: Mad Professor - Simble [traced]

It's gooped, and traced, don't tear yours up. :D

I'll post the schematic shortly, it's verified now.

Re: Mad Professor - Simble [traced]

Hey cool, that's pretty close to what I have as well. A couple values difference, but overall similar. Those dead-end components were pretty cool, can't say I've seen that before. BTW I didn't get a message (or email) from you, where did you send it? From the picture, the trace to R21 seems cu...

Re: Mad Professor - Simble [traced]

This one was a fun one.

Aside from the goop there were a couple dummy traces like the one in the pic below, as well as a handful of decoy components. 8)

I'll post a schematic once it's verified. (It's definitely Zendrive-based, just FYI)

I have some PCBs for it, but haven't had a chance to verify them yet.

Re: Horizon Precision Drive

I'm still unpacking after the move, once my computer is up and running I'll get the schematic for you. In the meantime... Input goes parallel into the overdrive and RMS detector circuits, output of overdrive into unity gain buffer then FET based gate (shunts signal to VREF when gated), through one l...

No need to trace it, I have a schematic for it.

Re: Benson Preamp [traced]

The FETs in mine were marked 62P, which is still a J201.

If I get a chance I'll measure their specs with my DCA75, but not sure if I'll have the time to crack it back open.

Re: Benson Preamp [traced]

Yep, there was a source bypass cap on the second and third JFET stages. The trimpots are also set up slightly differently. Yours uses 50K trims with a 10K fixed resistor, mine has 100K trims with no fixed resistor. Otherwise everything else is the same as your schematic. Your cap values are correct,...

Re: Benson Preamp [traced]

Ahh yes, you are correct. It would have been C11 on your PCB.

I can confirm, the Treble control is correct as drawn in your schematic.

You are missing a Source bypass cap on the third FET stage (it would be C5 looking at your pic of the PCB).

Yep, of course. I'm just interested because of Manfreds simulations with the 10K pot in the existing circuit.

I have no doubt the traced values are correct for that revision of the circuit.

Re: Steel panther pussy melter [traced]

I made a frequency response compare of the Sizzle filter with both potentiometer values (10 kOhms and 100 kOhm). Thereby the value steps were 1 kOhm respectively 10 kOhms. The 10 kOhms potentiometer gives more significant changes than the 100kOhms potentiometer does. Very cool, much appreciated! :D...

Re: Steel panther pussy melter [traced]

R21 / R26 are 1K.. unfortunately no pic of the Sizzle pot value, but I'm fairly certain the schematic is correct for this revision.

Build docs uploaded now; https://www.pedalpcb.com/docs/PedalPCB-Muzzle.pdf Also OA3 needs + and - to be swapped. Just to clarify... the pin numbers were correct, the graphical symbol just needed to be updated. It's corrected now. The C7 / R7 / C8 junction really confuses the hell out of me... They ...

Re: The great "I'd like to see the guts of" thread

I noticed there are a couple FET in one of the gut shots for the G3. One is directly off the wiper of the volume pot and the other you can barely see under the gain pot. Maybe for muting? Those are SOT23 dual diodes packs. There is a BJT bypass mute circuit that wasn't included in the Tyrian or San...

Re: Any JHS VCR Gutshots Out There?

@bugg, is that in the actual JHS pedal? Yep. The reverb and "analog chorus" are both digital algorithms coming from the FV-1. In the original the boost is just an SHO style circuit tacked on the end... It's a tremendously noisy circuit. The clone has a lower noise floor than the original but it's n...

Re: Any JHS VCR Gutshots Out There?

Feel free to post the schematic.

You might be surprised to find out how many pedals use the FV-1. Although it's far from a SHARC it's certainly capable of more than just cheap karaoke machines.
