Re: 1981 - Inventions DRV [traced]

So I got one, and did a trace, and I'll be damned. They actually did use that value there. Pointless.

So.... I modded the circuit to include a cap and a pot on a switch, which provides for a nice boost mode!

This is a great circuit but could benefit from some tweaks for sure.

Re: 1981 Inventions DRV [traced]

I'm about to test out a build on this, but wanted to point out that the 2.2M resistor on the output stage seems nonsense. Has anyone validated that value? I was looking at this circuit with another builder as it is laid out in the build docs for both Express Layout and PedalPCB versions, and both ha...

So are these two boards stacked somehow?

It is 100% confirmed to be a BSIAB clone. Up until around 2010 Josh was even using the circuit board layouts from BSIAB DIY projects in his builds.

Re: Rockbox - Boiling Point [traced]

Hi guys, Someone know how can I compensate the volume drop when you change the switch from middle position to any of the diode clipping positions? I was thinking about a volume reduction in the middle position but I don't know how. Any suggestions? Thanks! It's the nature of the beast. When you swi...

excuse my ignorance but then, how is a dpdt giving these 3 positions? to my understanding a dpdt is two spdt in a single switch so I don't understand how this switch works for that diagram Is this the right switch for this project? http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQohOB3tJ7-PXtMZfvn2tJiBuTJ...

Re: Hot Rodded Honey Bee

You can build it using the regular Honey Bee board. This blog post on Brigg's page referenced earlier contains a link to madbeans "Yellow Shark" board, which is the honey bee board. Brigg's post discusses the changes to make to build the hot-rodded version if I recall correctly.

What did i do wrong......some extra eyes might help on this one!!!!! What it does ,is some sort of strange low frequency "broooom" and when i twist that drive knob from 3 o'clock to all the way up, it disappears but so does the original signal....??? I tried with 3 different 3130's.....sa...

Re: Double Chip Doubler: +/-18v From Single 9V - Verified

n00bish question here guys.. so this is actually producing +/-18V (PD of 36V?).. if I just use the common earth and +18V I can power an 18V flanger? I want to build an 18V flanger but use my common 9v PSU, thought about integrating something like this.. is that going to work? I'd looked at the tone...

Yeah, like the vero layout from earlier in the thread I omitted some of the .1uF caps that are unnecessary. Other than that it should match.

this is not typical of JHS, so either they're stepping up their game or I should be inclined to believe it was designed by someone new or outside of their operation. Most likely the latter IMO. The dude went from ripping off Brian's Crunch Box layout to this in a couple months? No way. to be fair, ...

I really like that SMD implementation, meffcio. However it only uses series switches which makes it a bit different from Mictester's. Here is an adaptation of Mictester's idea. I did not like how the output of the buffer was switched to Vref through its output cap. Sure, the components can handle t...

If I'm not mistaken Brian (madbean) also utilized digital ground on his Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay boards for that exact reason.

Re: EH - IC Big Muff, 3003B. [schematic]

I was really curious so I had to look at the Guitarpcb.com schematic. From what I just learned about tube screamers, R13, the one to ground right after the volume control, is called a shunt resistor, I think, and affects the output impedance and therefore how hard it can drive the next thing in lin...
