Re: Ampeg - Sub Blaster [schematic]
i worked through the parts of the aguilar octamizer PCB that's traceable, ie not under the black epoxy, and it's definitely based on the sublaster.

Re: Black Arts Toneworks - Boneshaker [traced]
any word on when the values will be plugged into the schematic? i've been dying to draw up a layout for this monster.

Re: Ampeg - Sub Blaster [schematic]
i've got the aguilar octamizer and would be happy to help figure out what's under the epoxy. any idea how to get it off?

go for it. i'ld be happy to work on a trace for it. it's going to be damn near impossible without a pick of the bottom though.

Re: Darkglass - Vintage Microtubes [schematic]
i know it's been awhile since anything moved on figuring this one out, but if your dmm is still broken and want/can send it out, i'd gladly test it to figure out the missing caps. would be real nice to get this one right man. btw, great work so far.

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
I forgot to post the link to the layout over at tagboardeffects. http://guitar-fx-layouts.42897.x6.nabble.com/black-arts-toneworks-black-sheep-td19315.html Also, figured I'ld post build pics. https://i909.photobucket.com/albums/ac293/rocket8811/4D7691C8-B23A-4B5F-A337-6AA54F189D2F_zpshtn0usni.jpg ht...

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
ok, so i finished building mine and have a few things to report. 1 - the 47uF electrolytic cap to ground must have the positive leg at the junction of the 1k/10k/100k going to Q1, it not the whole pedal does not work. when i had it connected to the base of Q1 both the sustain and volume controlled t...

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
nice work man. i've got the vero done, with all input caps, coupling caps, caps on BC on the transistors, and output cap socketed so i can mess with them to get it where i want. just finishing the enclosure so i can wire it all up. i decided to actually make an enclosure with graphics rather then ju...

Re: Throbak Overdrive Boost Schematic [traced]
hmmm, i wired it with a 3pdt switch since i didn't have any dpdt switches laying around, cause i wanted to have an led indicator too. i wonder if that's the issue. i may have to go back and take a look at it, but for now it sounds good to me.

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
nope that's a 10uF. My hand writing looks like shit in pencil, so it might be hard to see the "0" in 10uF.

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
Hmm. Well I took a look at the board again, and you are correct about the 47uF, it should be coming off the 10k resistor not the 330pF cap. I'll have to make the change. Ask good catch, I can't beleive I missed that. :slap: As for the other things. 1- the sustain/gain control is essentially a voltag...

Re: Throbak Overdrive Boost Schematic [traced]
I've built this using the same layout on tagboardeffects and it fired out right away and sounds great. A there is one anomaly that bothers me. Whether the boost is engaged or not the pregain pot will effect the signal. Now, it's not a big change when the boost is off, it's much more drastic when the...

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
Interesting about the transistors, I was planning on trying differs transitors and mpsa18 was on the top of my list. I'm definitely thinking that the Q3 on yours was put in backwards by mistake. It makes no sense based on the schematic for the original beebaa, and the one I had, which had the same v...

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
Wow. Looks so much cleaner without the 1uF electrolyitcs, not to mention the quality soldering job. I wonder if the tone will be affected by the switch form electrolytic to poly and tantalum.

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
Well glad to know I'm not completely crazy then. Haha. I had v1-3 too, so my guess is that the Q3 in yours has a backwards pinout for some reason. I know I've had some transistors all from the same lot that had a reverse pinout, but were perfectly fine for use. I'm certain the schematic is 1:1 with ...

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
Also, I just noticed, and I'm not sure if the one you have had the transistor backwards or the pinout was backward, but Q3, without a doubt should go from left to right CBE,not EBC like the rest of them. That's comparing the trace to the board I had, and the schematic for the original. I should hav...

Re: Black Arts Black Sheep [traced]
My computer isn't behaving so I drew out the schematic on paper, it's the best I can do for now. Figured I would post it for someone to give it a double check before I go and make a layout. The one thing that seems odd to me that the caps between B & C for Q1 & Q3 were upped, but for Q2 it w...
