Re: Mad Professor - Simble [traced]

What's the purpose of those parallel caps? C12 & c13? I'm asking because if you connect c12 to accent 1 and leave c13 as is...it works as a high presence filter. Did someone try this? Mostly you put 2 caps in parallel to get a value which is not (at all) available or very expensive to buy. In this ...

Re: Bogner - Ecstasy Red

Can anyone tell me what the structure is switching in all 3 positions? I guess it is a DP3T On-Off-On of sorts. and I can see tha in 1 position a 680p is on 1 side engaded and a 2200p on the other side. But what other components are involved?

Re: DSM OmniCabSim

Here are some pics of an original omnicab. The first noticeable difference is that de mid pot is different with the pedalpcb version but the others are right. Pretty different with the values of bajaman´s version https://www.dropbox.com/sh/iuyvnbn8c5qpznm/AAB0QFGRN7pdcs87TLCzXLuqa?dl=0 Is this the ...

Re: DSM OmniCabSim

Thanks man, I cannot wait! Maybe you can also shed some light on how the XLR, through and headphones are implemented so we know for sure what the extra opamps are used for :)

Re: DSM OmniCabSim

Tested the new values and they really are an improvement! It is more open now. Before it sounded like a blanket over the sound/amp. Still the cabsize pot does not really do much and also the gain does not do unity at 12 o'clock, still around 10 o'clock.

Re: DSM OmniCabSim

Also, looks like unity gain is not on 12 o'clock, but more around 9/10 o'clock. I'll try your values later today and see what the changes will be :) Thank you Bajaman!

Re: DSM OmniCabSim

Thank you!! Those are some significant differences. I see you connected the 18k resistor after punch to Vb and not ground as in the original schematic. Why is that?
Also some added resistors (1k5 for mid response and 2M2 parallel to cabsize) and changed values.

Re: DSM OmniCabSim

The pots are marked correctly as they should be as the circle indicates pin 3 (clockwise). This is how EasyEDA (and most CAD programs I've used) does it and as far as I'm aware the convention is to mark the clockwise direction (pin 3), I may be wrong though... Ok thanks, did not know that (as I use...

Re: DSM OmniCabSim

I think all pins of the pots are reversed. That is if you marked pin 1 with a dot in the schematic. The dot should indicate pin 3 not pin 1.
Got this one on the breadboard and testing it. It does work, now I am only A/B it to the videos.

Yes, a 7660S is rated at max +13V and is a safer bet.

Re: Bogner La Grange [traced]

I did some research. Looks like my info is very outdated. There is no problem connecting pin 1 and 8 anymore with a LT1054. Source: https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/ ... c=112200.0

Re: Bogner La Grange [traced]

No, an ICL7660S replaces a max1044, not a LT1054. Note that pin 1 and 8 are connected together in both 1044's. A 1054 can only replace it when you break the trace connecting pin 1 and 8!!! The main difference between the 1054 and 7660S (note the s at the end!!!) is that the 1054 can deliver more cur...

Then there is a high change you got a defective max1044. Try to replace it.

Re: Bogner La Grange [traced]

Pin 5 on the 7660s feeding the OPA132 should be -9V! the other 7660 (or LT1054) should have about 8V
