Fuse difficulties...
I bought a rackmount compressor in america last week, and in my excitement, plugged it in over here straight away, and blew the fuse. silly me. Anyway, I found out that the fuse in it is a 100 - 120 V ~: T 250 mA H, and for UK, it needs a 200 - 240 V ~: T 125 mA H. So i headded off to my local DIY, ...

AH CRAP!!!!
there's a mistake in that.... After the 180k (R4) there's a 100k between it and the 1M Pot/C2. My bad!!

Re: eighty seven percent - De Stijl [documentation]
Hooray!!! So here's revision 2. The volume is very sensitive, so it might be worth while going for a 47k or even a 25k. I'm sticking with a 100k, cos my kaoss pad destroys the volume in my chain. Anyway, here you go. I've it all breadboarded and it sounds great. Going to start on a vero now shortly....

Re: eighty seven percent - De Stijl [documentation]
going to be finalising this tonight. I had a look some of the rog stuff, and a few others (like the orange 120 one) and i've a few ideas for that last stage. I'm heading home in about an hour, so i'll definitely get to have a try of a few things tonight. The idea is to get a vero and prototype done ...

Re: eighty seven percent - De Stijl [documentation]
tbh, the circuit as is sounds fun! hahaha!
at the end of the day, in 2 weeks time i'm building it regardless of how it is. There will be clips, and brick will be upgraded to the status of shat.

Re: eighty seven percent - De Stijl [documentation]
As far as developing this out goes, I think the first stage and tonestack are probably the closest to being done. What else would need to be done to those (and the other stages infact!!)

Re: eighty seven percent - De Stijl [documentation]
yah this could be a cool project. The tone stack is simply beautiful. I did make a balls of the last stage, but i posted the relevent changes i made above. I won't be home for 2 weeks to work on it, but i really recommend breadboarding this. Maybe we could get this properly kick ass sounding??

Moleskine kick ass!! I bought them in a bundle in america last year. I still have 4 or 5 unopened ones. I love them. I'm studying architecture, so they're like my best friend.

made a balls of the last stage: 1M (R12) To ground 2.2K (R13) To Ground Remove R14 and C9 Replace Volume Pot with 100k There probably is an absence of a lot of things. I pretty much just copied the stock schematic of the channel 2, so i'm guessing there's a lot missing. Sounds awesome though. ;) De ...

Eighty Seven Percent - De Stijl [documentation]
Hello all, Well i'm a big Jack White fan, but unfortunately, getting hold of a Silvertond 1485 is pretty tricky and costly. So, I started looking at the whole Tube > Fet thing that everyone's doing, like the Diefet and the Citrus etc. Here's the fruits of my labour! It's a FET based simulator of the...

Re: Dickinson Amplification Overdrive
their amps are porn, and also have gut shots. Matt bellamy has one. He uses it on tour, BUT, it's not mic'd, so as far as i know, he only really uses it for mega feedback/mega prop.

Dickinson Amplification Overdrive
Right so.
Those of you who are fans of Muse will be well aware that Matt Bellamy has a fine looking Dickinson Amp. Well now DA have an overdrive. Better yet, they put a gut shot on their site.

MXR Reference Series
Hey all,
I'm looking for schematics from the MXR Reference series. Particularly, the micro-amp. I know there was some changes made throughout the years, but i'd love to get my hands on some of the old original schematics.

sorry to bump such an ancient topic, but is this essentially just a fuzz face with different transistors? Did anyone ever work out exactly what the differences are?

Re: SMPS Inductor Protection
actually, it's 500ma. So a small resistor, say 200R between the 9V and the inductor should do it, right?

Re: SMPS Inductor Protection
ok so i'm getting somewhere. the input into the SMPS is 9.4V @ 300ma (it's the normal boss regulated PA). So now with a new inductor, the SMPS is outputting 120V. grand. IF i wanted to say, lower the current in from 300ma to something a little lower, just to protect the inductor, how would i do that...
