Re: Wampler Velvet Fuzz [traced]
Quick update - I recently decided to buy four SMD J201s and appropriate sot23 adaptor boards from http://www.bitsbox.co.uk, really just to find out how tricky it would be for my aging eyes and clumsy hands (answer - pretty tricky BTW) but i was surprised and delighted to discover the first three JF...

Untitled.jpg Chinese Klon Clone. The op amps are marked with JRC4558, the charge pump chip is TC1044. It sounds okay, good in its sweet spots, but I have not played a real Klon or any of the popular clones so I can't really compare. It's in the realm of the Klon sound, but listening to videos on yo...

Re: presenting the Schizoid Face
Hi! I breadboarded this with 2N4401 transistors, because I didn't have any MPSA06's. My findings: I preferred to have 2.2uF elyt as input cap, and keep the 100Ω resistor (R7) connected. But it was fun to disconnect it and have some noisier sounds going on too. As for the 8.2k resistor, I used an A10...

Re: Earthquaker Devices Bit Commander [traced]
The traces are covered by the white laquer on the board, on both sides. The circuit can still be traced, but it's a bit hard to do from just photos.

Re: Fuzzhugger - Phantom Octave [traced]
i loved the sound of these, as i ususally do when things are on the verge of breaking. My problem was not the LED but one of the diodes, and after a couple of times I gave up.

If someone wants to swap a (as in one) tda7052a for something real trivial like a few transistors or an op amp let me know through pm

Re: Earthquaker Devices - Speaker Quaker [traced]
Nice simple design. I made one and it sounds great, mostly. I am having one small problem with noise using some 9v transformers. it is a high pitch sine wave sound. I try two identical BOSS transformers. One does it, one doesn't. Another transformer gives me a low pitched hum. It doesn't happen on ...
