Re: Zvex - Woolly Mammoth [traced]

Fuck the WM tonestack off, replace it with the big muff tonestack minus the tone recovery stage and add a 220nF input cap and a 330nF output cap and you'll have one sick fuzz. (with tons of volume too) Coming from you I'll have to give this a whirl. I've not given this a try yet, but never forgot a...

Re: Little VOODOO VIBE project by Kaputepalla [documentation]

I also increased the first phase shift capacitor to .022uf (was .015uf) to maintain the same response with the changed 150k bias resistor - now 100k. After performing the mods I tried the pedal and feel it has a far clearer smoother sound than it had with the original component values. All the stag...

Re: AION BLUESHIFT (BOSS DIMENSION C CLONE) QUESTION

I've built a couple and FWIW the scope wasn't a deal breaker. I had it dialed in pretty dang close audio probing off the BBD and setting at minimal distortion. It's kind of a nightmare to have to debug. Be sure to double check your wiring options. Go by the table instead of the picture. I had mine m...

Re: Way Huge - Pork Loin [traced]

Right there with ya man. Been on the fence between the two, as I like those hex inverter distortions for my peavey classic. Just saw perf and PCB released a layout for the fat drive but pedalpcb came out for a very nice looking board for the pork loin and have gone that route. I got 20 of the transi...

Re: Prescription Electronics - Depth Charge [traced]

Go through the layout with the schematic posted a few posts above. Double check your wiring. Insure the transistors pinouts are right. Check polarity of caps. Then check vero traces for continuity. If you take your time and go through it methodically you will find the problem. Debugging is tedious, ...

Re: Area 51 wah transistors

The board I got 15 years ago had bc109s....i think they moved on to 2n5172. If you go with the 109 try and get NOS bc109b hfe ~300.

What you have there is the assumed schematic applied from a circuit design mentioned earlier in this thread.

Re: Basic Audio - Scarab Deluxe [traced]

Toss a .0022 between the base and collector of Q2 for the 5th cap that all the schems and layouts are missing. The difference is small, but noticeable.

In this pic there appears to be a trace between r18 and c14, making the proposed 1.4 schem inaccurate. Interested to hear the diode/transistor tests.

Glad to see this come to fruition. Been here a long time and it seems like it has been awhile since folks came together to complete a trace. :applause:

I cant confirm the caps as they are unlabeled and smt. Same with the LEDs. Resistors are confirmed as they are labeled.

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

Woops, sorry about that. The picture is actually cut. It is a 10k resistor to the volume pot. Same as the schem on page 3. Wish I was good at using a schem drawing program for clarity sake. Hoping someone will take my work to the next level by drawing up a proper schem. Also, the original owner will...

Let's give this a shot. I've got it for a few more days, so if anyone wants me to double check something, please let me know. https://postimg.org/image/gct2wuy47/ Big correctionss with R2, gain section and presence section. Some minor additions in power filtering. 33k resistors confirmed in the bass...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal

I caught a quick peek inside it. Has a gain trimmer. About a dozen of the grey box caps. No goop/smt at least on that side. Resistors and jfets must be on other side, which I didn't have time to get to. My buddy is going to let me take a look at it over labor day. If someone hasn't got it up by then...

Re: Earthquaker Devices - Grand Orbiter

I checked out the v1 at some point and found it was very similar to the ross phaser with mods similar to the ones at tonepad. I know they also mention the dod490, but found more similarities to the ross. Check out tonepad's add on stage board if you want deeper.

You can order both from Roland. I did, problem was the new knob has not been faded from 20 years of use...so it looked a bit funny!
