Re: DALLAS RANGEMASTER Clone (Verified)
Guys, thanks for the answers. I am so stupid! I have the circuit on the breadboard without bypass. The guitar goes through, and of course there is no sound with the pot at minimum. tonyharker you are right and I am an idiot :) By the way, excellent effect. I wish I had a better amp and no neighbours...

Re: DALLAS RANGEMASTER Clone (Verified)
Sorry, my post was not clear.
With the pot at minimum I have no output. Not even the clean guitar.
I guess it has something to do with my transistor.
However, I am going to test other transistors for this effect.

Re: DALLAS RANGEMASTER Clone (Verified)
Hi there I breadboarded the schematic with an old ASY27 germanium transistor found in a box with my father-in-law's electro-trash. With the pot at minimum everything is dead. When it's at maximum, the guitar comes out of the amp with a nice, slightly overdriven sound. Apparently the transistor works...

Re: Home-made Darlington problems
I just finished my the 7-minutes fuzz ( http://www.diyguitarpedals.com.au/shop/boms/7_Min_Fuzz_Schematic.pdf ), which I think is based on the bazz fuss. I did not have a Darlington and I combined two 2N2222A connecting the pinouts as you see here: https://imageshack.com/i/jwjwm6j . The fuzz works ju...

caps with 100V voltage rating for a 9V pedal?
I am still gathering the parts to assemble a Penfold fuzz... (https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=23412) here the schematic: https://imageshack.us/a/img194/7117/pfof.jpg It asks for some 100V axial caps, does it make sense on a fuzz feeded with a 9V battery? Most important, a 470...

Re: replacing resistors: 0.6W film with 0.25W carbon
Hi there, Here is the link for the schematic (it's a picture taken with my phone, no time to redraw it) https://imageshack.us/a/img194/7117/pfof.jpg The part list requires all the resistors to be 0.6W 1% metal film. Except for the hiss, I think there should be no issue using resistors with 0.25W car...

replacing resistors: 0.6W film with 0.25W carbon
Hi there, I am trying to assemble the Fuzz unit in Penfold's "Music Project" book. It requires metal film resistors, all 0.6W, but I only have carbon 0.25W. After reading here and there in the forum, I understand that the material of the resistors will affect the signal introducing noises....
