Re: 2N5133s with wildly varying hfes
I ordered 12 of the 2n5133's from smallbear. 2 had hfe above 400, 5 were between 100 and 300, the rest were 50-85. You are lucky sir.

That setting is "Super Fat" on all of the versions I've seen. Just a very curly fancy font.TheLemon wrote:Yeah I'm also guessing its a Rat, basing by how the fourth mode is called Super Rat lol.

Re: D*A*M - Head Buzz
The voltages seem correct so I don't think it is the biasing?
Maybe my gains are too high on the bc108's? I'll have to pull them out and check them

Re: D*A*M - Head Buzz
Really splatty with oscillation when Fuzz is maxed. Is this normal or have I mad a mistake along the way? Sounds cool but different from other Fuzz Faces I've made in the past. Both trannies are BC108b's, I forgot to check hfe before I soldered them in... Here are my voltages: Q1 - B- 1.36v C- 4.5v ...

Thanks man. Enclosure is from PedalPartsPlus. I've given up on painting my own boxes long ago.

Re: D*A*M - Red Rooster
Thanks for the suggestions guys! :D I double checked the cap and it is in the right spot. It is passing signal and it sounds good to me. I tuned the trimmer by ear to what sounded best and it sounds like all of the samples I've heard online of the Rooster pedals, it just isn't biased at the 6.0-6.6v...

Re: D*A*M - Red Rooster
So I'm having a problem. I'm only getting 0.97v to the emitter when my trimmer is at max. I'm sure I've mad a simple and dumb mistake but I'm just not seeing it. Maybe a fresh set of eyes will catch my problem? here are my voltages C - 8.62v B - 1.058v E - 0.97v https://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...

Re: D*A*M - Meathead [traced]
Hey, So I read this entire thread. There are a number of layouts for the standard and deluxe versions in here, but people seem to have problems with some of them. Are there are 100% verified layouts? Preferably, the deluxe, but the standard 1-knob would be fine too. The layout I put up and ShortSca...

I bought at least a dozen from PedalPartsPlus and they've all been very "red". You might try them next time.

Re: D*A*M - Meathead [traced]
:hmmm: I'm not sure what problem some people are having with this pedal/layout. I've built 5 or 6 of these now and all have sounded identical to the sound clips of original D*A*M Meatheads. I've had no gate whatsoever and neither do the originals. All I can guess is a problem with soldering or bad o...

Which layout did you use for this? Is there a "verified" layout for the deluxe?FremenWarrior wrote:I just finished the "flesh" version; thats the deluxe 3 knobs Meathead minus the Fuzz knob (not the new germaniun Flesh head).
