Re: [traced]

IMPORTANT UPDATE The first dual opamp is NOT a TL022, it is definately a TLC (rail to rail opamp) NOT TLO, from the photos posted earlier in this thread. My guess is it is a TLC2262 device. ALSO There are 3 different types of LM386N power opamps: The LM386N-1, which is the one used in the Peach fuz...

Re: Hudson Electronic Broadcast [traced]

I just traced my Broadcast 24V. I unsoldered all diodes on the power supply board to be sure of the type. I made an true to the original vero layout and measured the voltages on both transistors. Re: 21st Century Big Muff

I decided to put an op-amp "wrapper" around the standard BMP clipper stages, and add my favourite tone control for real versatility. As drawn, it sounds really good, but has more top end than a normal BMP because there's no input loading effect. The capacitor in the feedback around the first op-amp...

Hi all, I own an OCD #84590 with a pcb revision 1.4. Wanting to know how it works, I traced the complete pcb and made a drawing out of it. Here are a few pics and my drawing. It might be of some interest. IMG_0804_small.jpg IMG_0805_small.jpg IMG_4523_small.jpg IMG_4524_small.jpg OCD_pcb-layout-1.4....

Box etched, painted and build completed !

It definitely sounds great on bass!

Re: Black Arts Toneworks - Pharaoh [traced]

Anyone saw the Supreme version? From their description I'd guess it's a pot (something close to 390k) wired as a variable resistor on the input and that seems like it could be useful. The other control they explain clearly but I find it hard to see the point of having six types of diode available o...

[quote="Nocentelli"]I recently made this silicon tonebender mkII-type fuzz: Axial fuzz schem_nocentelli.bmp Just built this one on perfboard and it works very fine, even on bass. This is a schematic of the degooped BJFE BOD #045 [ Image ] I am the owner of this pedal. The switch became faulty recently, so I decided to replace it and trace the schematic while it was open. Thank you so much for posting this ! I just built it in a 125B with top jacks. It really sounds great. I...

I did a scrappy schematic, since there isn't one in this thread: Fuzzbud schematic_nocentelli.png And here is my pcb layout (created with Eagle). Re: BLACK ARTS Quantum Mystic [traced]

nevermind. a 10n works fine there. Hi john, I re-checked my pedal and I can confirm that the cap between lug 1 and lug 3 of both bass and mids pots is a 10nF (code is 47L 103). Also the resistor R4 in the feedback of the first opamp is a 1meg (brown-black-black-yellow-brown), not a 500k. When I fir...

Re: BLACK ARTS Quantum Mystic [traced]

Thanks. And how about that bass control? According to my pedal there's one 10n cap between bass 1 and bass 3, and another one between mids 1 and mids 3. Sorry if my schematic isn't readable, I tried my best but still have a lot to learn in electronics. It was quite complicated to draw with this IC…...

Re: BLACK ARTS Quantum Mystic [traced]

I made some slight editions to the schematic wanting it to be as accurate as possible to the pcb layout.
They are in the 9v supply chain. The same parts are connected as before, it's just the order the is not exactly the same.

Here it is:

Sure ! The pcb is 50mm wide and 45mm high.

To have it right you just need to save the image on your hard disk. Then you print it with size at 100%, that's all.

I measured transistors' hfe (overall gain) on mine using R.G.Keen method given in his article on selecting transistors for Fuzz Face clone.
http://geofex.com/Article_Folders/ffselect.htm

Transistors are 2N5089. The overall gain reads as following:
Q1 436
Q2 406
Q3 410
