Re: Skreddypedals - Pink Flesh

was this the one that got a glowing review in a big guitar magazine? it was def one of the pink floyd inspired pedals, and i don't think it was the lunar module.

Re: Zvex - Fuzz Factory [traced]

I m a beginner so i dunno much, any part number for PNP ge that i can use to substitute? it doesn't even have to be ge, just get a bunch of PNP transistors, socket your board, and keep what sounds best i went w/silicons over ac128's. i don't remember the part #'s though. they sound much better than ...

Re: Zvex - Fuzz Factory [traced]

I've been working on the Fuzz Factory, but I'm not sure if I've got the right transistors or not. I went to my local electronics store, and asked for some AC 128's, and they gave me these: http://www.icphotos.org/photo/J230-large.html The bag had NTE158 written on it, but you can see in the picture...

Note that the transistors need to be flipped 180 degrees from how they are shown on the layout.
really?

i built that one as the layout suggests and it works fine. i guess i'll try flipping them :whappen:

MXR Classic 108 Fuzz [schematic]

Supposedly an Si Fuzz Face with a switchable buffer (not a bypass buffer, but a buffer make it not oscillate when using it with a wah), but it looks like there's a LOT more going on in there: https://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/the_pman28/DSCF4941.jpg https://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/the_...

Re: Visual Sound schems?

Just picked up a 'broken' J&H on ebay very very cheap, positive the repair will be a 5 minute job but wondered what the vers 2 of this pedal was? ( this is an older red one). Also, standard ts, guvnor mods needed / useful to this pedal? i'm pretty sure all the version 2's are red and the versio...

Re: Skreddy Pedals - Mayo

Skreddy, Since you're the Muff connoisseur, what's the deal with the 90's BMPs? For some reason, people are paying a lot of money for these on ebay. Is this a bunch of lemmings buying some hype, or is there something to these pedals? My experience with BMPs is in the mid 90s, I had a big Fender Bas...

Re: SMD build

because of the way the description is worded, I thought it was probably a CD4016/4066 type set up. It's actually not a bad bypass system. I believe the series resistance of the analog switches is (IIRC) under 500 ohms so it doesnt require buffering, and allows for headroom close to the total supply...

I love beavis. His prices aren't cheap but think of it this way - it pays for his web site and funds more stuff for him to experiment with.

I've used one before. I'd describe it as a Blue Box on steroids. Seriously beefy sound, tons of output. I liked it much more than my Blue Box.

Ok, my contribution - a bit smaller ... change boost section values and you got a mini sized SHO. https://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa131/veroboard/borvero2.png I used this layout and it's not working  Just to confirm, "k" on a diode is the negative end, right? I used 33nF instead ...

Re: Craig Anderton - Comparator Fuzz

Can this be used on a daisy chain with neg ground pedals or does it need its own power supply? Will it even work with a power supply?
