Re: B&M Sola Sound - Fuzz Unit [schematic]

Just found this old thread, and was thinking about building one myself..... What pot values should I use on this, 100k? Rev Log, Linear, etc...

Re: EHX - Electric Mistress 18v Version 2 1976

Just a thought, after speaking to someone on another forum about this volume drop issue. In the original circuit, both the direct signal and the delayed signal are reduced (roughtly 25:1 and 20:1 respectively) and then summed together to get the output. surely you don't need to then turn round and a...

Re: EHX - Electric Mistress 18v Version 2 1976

I have been lucky and found someone that was selling just and original v2 EHX board, minus the SAD1024 chip. Needless to say I bought it in a heart beat. I already have 2 SAD1024 chips so it was easy to just stuff one in the board, and rewire it up. 20180710_195957.jpg 20180710_200010.jpg here's the...

Re: Hartman Analog Flanger [traced]

Just done a recky, and I think I'll have a go at this

MXR MicroAmp... Looks like a good clean transparent boost pedal.... And best of all.... Simple.

Re: Hartman Analog Flanger [traced]

Will do..... Just seen your edit. I've actually just downloaded a good picture of a v5 off the interweb from an old eBay auction, see below: v5 pcb.jpg Regarding the opamp boost, can you suggest any particular one?... I have the schematics of a few, but in all honesty wouldn't know what is the best ...

Re: Hartman Analog Flanger [traced]

I'll be running the flanger through a loop in my audio switcher, so it'll be easy to just put a boost pedal after the flanger to bring the volume up in the same loop.... That way the boost will only be on when the flanger is engaged. Any suggestions on a simple boost.... something that I can make th...

Re: Hartman Analog Flanger [traced]

I may do that actually... That's a good idea to do the version 5. I'll still create a trace layout for this version 2..... I might as well as long as I have it in this state before I build it into an enclosure and use it. Regarding the volume drop mod.... Have you seen Blondegraemeys mod on YouTube....

Re: Hartman Analog Flanger [traced]

I have an update.... I have bought a fully functioning 1976 18v mistress PCB off a kind gentleman on the EHX forum for £50, that is minus the SAD1024 chip. Not a problem as i was given 2 SAD chips by a guy in Holland who had some NOS kicking around and didn't want them anymore. I just paid for the p...

Re: Electric Mistress 18v Version 2 1976

I guess increasing the gain before SAD1024 will cause clipping. I increased the two 47nF capacitors (after the SAD1024 and for the dry path) and decreased the 13K and 10K resistors to the same ratio in my V2 18V Electric Mistress. I could scan the pcb of my pedal if that helps. A scan would be grea...

EHX - Electric Mistress 18v Version 2 1976

I'm planning my next pedal build, and this is going to be a biggy. I want to build as accurately as possible a version 2 18v Electric Mistress. I've started researching this pedal as much as possible, apart from correcting the notorious volume drop i want to make it as authentic as I can..... Pretty...

I did this last year.... My board layout is here

And the BOM

This is for the 18v Powerboost, and not the weedy 9v Overdriver.

Hartman Analog Flanger [traced]

I'm looking at building an Electric Mistress clone, specifically a clone of the earlier 18v Mistress. i'm planning on drawing the schematic in Eagle and laying out a bespoke board in line with that schematic, and then buy a NOS SAD1024 chip off Ebay...... However, what might be a better solution wou...

Re: Colorsound Power Boost 18v [schematic]

I have a few updates, which is really making me think there's something untoward going on with my house. I thought I had it sorted.... But it looks like I have an issue not directly connected to the pedal. First update is, I sent my "vintage correct" board to a guy over at the Element 14 f...

Re: Colorsound Power Boost 18v [schematic]

Ok chaps, 2 things. 1. I've revised the PCB layout, improved it, and made all pads and traces black 2. A guy over at DIYStompboxes has asked me for a copy of the tracing file so he can make one too... The good thing is, he's an electronics engineer, sio will be able to properly troubleshoot the peda...

Re: Colorsound Power Boost 18v [schematic]

Ok guys... Update on the issue with this power boost clone. Following some various tests kicked off by the guys at Element14 Forum, I have done the following: 1. Increasing the capacitor value from Q2 emitter to ground, from 22uf, to around 100uf. This didn't work. 2. removed the volume pot and repl...

Ok, this is aimed primarily at Electric warrior however please, if anyone has any ideas chime in as I'm desperate for a solution to this issue. I have at last stuffed the PCB into an enclosure and the ticking noise is still there, however i may have misled you by saying ticking noise. It's more a ra...
