Re: Does the EHX Frequency Analyzer really need 40 volts?

Depending on the current draw from the 4 ICs you might be able to pull it off with an LT1054 providing +/- 18V but I suspect it might perform better with one LT1054 for the positive voltage and another for the negative voltage.

Some of the doubling is perplexing though. They parallel 100n throughout to achieve 200n coupling caps but then parallel 47n when they could have just used a single 100n they already had in the BOM.

The diode compensation is legit. I've thought of ways to manage that and avoid LEDs always sounding best just because they're louder but this is a very elegant situation.

Re: Analogman KOT Mystery "H" IC

A long time ago someone on DIY stomps suggested repainting resistors to change apparent values as a diabolical way to throw off would-be cloners working from photos. Interesting to see analogman actually did it.

Re: Darkglass Electronics - Microtubes B3K [traced]

I'm having a weird oscillation issue with the level and drive controls at max on this circuit that I can't really figure out. I've seen a few folks mention a similar issue but no apparent resolution. Im wondering if it could be an issue with the JFETs since the rest of the circuit should have much v...

Re: BJF - Baby Blue Overdrive [ goop-alarm ] BJFE

Resurrecting this thread, did anyone ever trace one of these out? I have one but would like to try and avoid destroying it by de-gooping it, any suggestions as to the best way to go about it? Thanks. I doubt you would destroy it as the goop is soft. You would just have to pick it all away. You coul...

Wtf. Here I was, thinking this would be some awesome reverb type thing, and all it is is a big muff pi without the tone section... This is why I try not to get all worked up over some pedal with a cool name. Seriously dissapointed. Well you just gotta find one of the one-knob delays. Those a...

Re: EHX Pitch Fork

I currently use a Micro POG to simulate bass in one of my rigs. I have a Pitch Fork in the mail to replace the POG because it has a pure octave down while the Micro POG always has a tiny bit of dry and octave up bleed which lends an unwanted synthy quality. However, the Pitch Fork doesn't have the d...

All the prototyping was done with a Hiwatt 100-watter and a 4x12.

Try it and see! I liked the sound of the 337 more than other transistors I tried. Other folks may like other things.

Who is the genius "designer" of this unit ? Using 3,3V zener-diodes in an antiparallel configuration so that they act as normal silicon diodes ? I selected the 4742 because I had some on hand when I prototyped this circuit and I didn't have 914s. I stuck with them because they are big and...

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red

I have one and its excellent. Bogner really hit one out of the park with these pedals. The build quality is excellent and the tones are top notch. So, how rich are you? Not particularly. $300 pedals abound on this planet. Most of them have 20 parts and a stupid paint job. The Bogner pedals have mor...

Thanks - I thought I saw an older thread (2009?) where he had some PCBs and/or kits of the Seraph. Just though I'd check. Thanks, Perhaps. I cant imagine offering a kit for that. There are about 200 parts on the board and a bunch of offboard wiring for the stereo switching. The whole thing barely f...

I dont think it was ever offered as a DIY project. That circuit is a pedal Fromel sells as part of his product line.
