Re: EHX - Riddle QBalls VCF

I can confirm that the Donner Viper works to control the EHX Riddle using a TRS(stereo) lead into the "Exp. Pedal" input.
The output looks like a 10k linear pot.

Re: EHX Chillswitch

Do you really think that there are few components in this unit ?? No, as I wrote earlier, I think there are Quite a few components in there. FYI, see THIS : Quite a Few: Definition The idiom “Quite a few” confuses many English learners from around the word because of the irony it holds. It is impor...

EHX Chillswitch

There's some gutshots of the EHX Chillswitch here.
Quite a few components in there.

Anyone have the schematic?

EHX - Riddle QBalls

Wow! Nearly 9 years since this thread started, and no-one on here has bought one? Well I just bought one, because at less than £70 brand new at the moment in the UK, how could I resist? Not really worth DIY-ing at that price. Looking at the Riddle compared to the Q-Tron+, there's just no competition...

Re: EHX - Q-Tron [schematic]

i've bought this "not working" Qtron for 30 euros. Is that some version of a Q-Tron? It looks a lot like a Q-Tron+. Edit : Sorry, I just noticed that the Q-Tron+ is the "Same design as the original Q-Tron but with extremely useful Effects Loop and an Attack Response Switch". From those photos, it l...

Re: Xotic - AC Booster [ goop-alarm ] [traced]

https://www.freestompboxes.org/download/file.php?id=35312&mode=view Hi aionios, Thanks for the tracings. That clipping section in the AC Booster doesn't look quite right to me. D5 is doing nothing and might as well not be there. It would make more sense if D1 and D4 where reversed as in the second ...

Re: Mosky Brown, a Pinnacle II clone

Hi, Out of interest, what JFETs are they using in the Mosky? I very much doubt they are J201s since they are only manufactured in SMD now (MMBFJ201). And it seems that carefully selected J201s with the right pinch-off voltage and biased correctly are hard to substitute in a pedal like this. Probably...

Re: Joyo Ultimate Drive v2 schematics [schematic]

Referring to your Rev04 schematic, here's some more errors I think
Your C9 should be 1uF.
Your R8 is actually 10k.
There is an extra 470k to GND after the buffer's 1uF cap.

Re: Joyo Ultimate Drive v2 schematics [schematic]

Alberto, thanks for posting the complete schematic. However, your clipping section is still not quite correct. Check out my partial schematic of the clipping section here - Joyo - JF-02 Ultimate Drive "2010" MISTAKE ... and how to fix that diode. Please check it again carefully. I think you'll find ...

Re: Joyo PowerSupply 2 schematic [schematic]

FYI A very good value-for-money isolated power supply is the Harley Benton PowerPlant Junior (not the bigger one). Outwardly, it looks similar to the T-Rex Fuel Tank Junior. The gutshots here show that it has 5 secondary transformer taps, each with their own bridge rectifier and regulator. It's odd ...

Re: Mad Professor 1

I notice on Spin Semiconductor's "Free DSP Programs" page that there's a free "Reverb plus flange plu 4-pole low pass" (sic) program for the FV-1. Now, if there was a "Reverb plus Flanger plus Phaser" program in this pedal, with the Flanger and Phaser switched via external control footswitches - the...

darn, the EPROM reader does not work, it always reads the upper and lower 4 bits the same :( and of course it's 20ys old with no support... Hi BJ, Thank you for your generous input here and elsewhere on this forum. Always a great insight. I don't suppose you could talk us through your aims as you went through the design process, in terms of distortion/harmonic characteristics and that all important EQ that you mentioned. Could you expla...

Hey, just wanted to post a follow-up on my experience with this pedal. I have the same PCB version and bought my pedal at some point last year. When I took it apart today, the diode was going the correct way. So it seems they did (at some point) figure out the issue. Same here.. Just wanted to shar...

Re: Fulltone - OCD [traced]

Just wanted to put some light on how exactly the clipping transistors and the germ. diode are connected. I have a V4 here on my bench and I see that Source and Gate are connected together (trannies are 2n7000). So we have S+G and D, where D corresponds to the striped end of a normal diode. ---->|--...
