Has anyone dissected one of the XTS iridium Fuzz pedals? Love the sound demos on youtube.
I have read that it has Red Llama DNA.

Re: Divided by Thirteen CeeJay Eleven
Adding reverb would be a fairly straight forward operation, as the origin of the CJ-11 preamp is fender blackface. Fender did the leg work on this mod back in 1963. For the traditional 2 tube fender style reverb, take a good look at a princeton reverb schematic, as there would only be very minor twe...

Dr Z Carmen Ghia CLONE
Selling my beautiful handwired Dr. Z Carmen Ghia Clone. Just a very fun amp to play. It reacts so predictably and really feels like an extension of your guitar. Extremely easy to dial in great tones, and it takes pedals very well. Gorgeous oak head cab. Built with Hammond transformers. - 2 x12ax...

Re: Bad Kitty Classic Cat
Looks like the power tubes are each individually cathode biased.
Most cathode biased amps share the R/C, but by separating them you can ever so slightly tune the power amp to the desired specs.

Re: Divided by Thirteen CeeJay Eleven
Sharp eyes guys! I totally missed that the 10uf on v1b was the boost. I never questioned what the brown wire was doing. I stared at the pictures for a long time, but just saw the 100k and ASSumed that was the boost function, augmenting the 6.8k mid resistor ala Allen RAW knob   Lo...

Doug Hoffman of Hoffmanamps.com - EL34world.com has a great stereo Marshall preamp. Two tweakable Marshall pre-amps that you can run into what ever you wish. :hmmm: Here are a few links. http://el34world.com/projects/StereoPreAmp1.htm http://el34world.com/projects/images/stereoprelayout.gif http://e...

Re: Need Ghia info Please
Is there a template for the chassis holes? No drilling templates that I have seen. There aren't very many holes to drill, however. Just take a blank sheets of paper that are the size of your chassis, board, tube sockets and start moving them around to see what looks like a nice happy fit. Another i...

You can get most if not all of your parts from Ken at turretboards.com

http://turretboards.com/
You can buy a uni-bit to take care of all the chassis holes.

Re: Divided by Thirteen CeeJay Eleven
By using a 100k pot it allows the player to have control over the level of boost. You're right there ! But when you go past ,let's say 25 K , can you still a difference when changing the value towards 100 K ? It affects the amount of boost to the signal. See the attached picture of what is happenin...

Re: Divided by Thirteen CeeJay Eleven
Shouldn't you midpot read 10 K instead of 100K ? No. Not necessarily. The stock CJ-11 has a fixed 6.8k mid resistor (like a stock vol-treb-bass AB763 front end,) [/u] and a 100k resistor in series on a push-pull boost switch. That is quite a big jump. By using a 100k pot it allows the player to hav...

Here is the updated schem with the 4.7k cathode resistor on v2a. Thanks for the catch.

Re: Divided by Thirteen CeeJay Eleven
This is a quickie schematic I mashed together, but it basically gets the point across. Caveats: - I decided to just include the 100k mid pot as opposed to the 100k resistor on a switch. More adjustibility. - Also, I put the two bright caps on a switch, this way the player can have 100pF, 250pF or no...

Also, the coupling cap from the Pre to the PI is a .022 with a 470k load dump to ground. (Signal reduction)

Re: Divided by Thirteen CeeJay Eleven
Anyone know what the circuit is for the CJ-11? In a nutshell, it is all Fender deluxe...but a clever blend of two classic era's. The CJ-11 uses a AB763 blackface deluxe front end. .1/.047/100k slope-250pF tonestack, 100k plates, and uses 3.3k cathode resistors, bypassed by 10uF caps on both. The pu...
