Re: Kingsley - Jester [gut shots]

Actually, according to Kingsley, they are running the tubes at 250v. The pedal is based on the drive channel of their Deluxe32 and Tone Baron amps. The OD channel of the Jester uses the two stages of the first tube and one of the stages of the second tube. The boost uses the other stage of the secon...

Re: Bartolini - Tube It [traced]

Guys, I think I'm disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting but I didn't get it. :( That was my impression when I played one also.. it was harsh, trebly.. almost metallic sounding. Maybe there were different versions.. or maybe they've been hyped by people to drive up the value ? Thanks for t...

Re: Bartolini - Tube It [traced]

The wire near the thumbwheel goes to the outside lug of the footswitch.

I saw that too. I think there were a few versions. I have two and they look different internally and sound quite different.

Re: Bartolini - Tube It [traced]

The thumbwheel on mine seems to sets the volume when the pedal is in "bypass" mode. I'm not sure for the reason for it.

I'll pull mine out and see if I can help with the wire.

Re: Catalinbread - Dirty Little Secret [traced]

Nic has suggested a mod on his site to add to the treble bleed cap value another 5000pf, slightly more gain and bigger sounding to my ears: http://www.catalinbread.com/odds/bunker.html :thumbsup Howard came into the shop yesterday with this idea. Turns out it works great! Just in time for the new P...

Re: Lovepedal Karl

^ I'm not sure. Lisen the sound samples here: http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en-GB&q=Lovepedal+Karl&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 :) I've heard the Karl and it does have a bit of octave/ring mod in the sound. I was just asking if you were talking about Gus's 3 ...

Nothing new - 3 transistor fuzz maybe ;)

Are you referring to Gus's 3 transistor fuzz? Does it have a mild octave/ring mod type effect? I didn't find any sound samples.

Re: Lovepedal Karl

One real nice and simple recipe: an Easy Drive into a Green Ringer. I never really got the Green Ringer thing till I realized it needs an overdrive right in front of it. The original Green ringer has no controls — you could just have it engaged all the time, or better yet, add a toggle to switch it...

Re: Lovepedal Karl

Prediction: It'll be a tweaked DIY design that's been discussed at DIYstompboxes :thumbsup That's what I figure. I'm also open to other builds that give a fat fuzz with a mild octave and nice sustain. I did a solo on my CD that is an Octavia into a Tube Screamer into a distorted amp. I have an Octa...

Lovepedal - Karl

I played a friends today. It sounds like it would work well to cover one of the solo's from my CD live, without having to stomp on several pedals. Kind of a fat fuzz with a mild octave. I did a search but didn't find anything on what this one is. Any of you Lovepedal experts know?

Re: Ayan - Smooth & Slim [traced]

Check out the HC reviews, people seem to love this thing, I wonder if the hyped up manual explanations and background information have psychologically biased these people or if there are any truths to these claims; "The realignment of frequencies takes away what shouldn't be there in the first...

It is C1 and C2 which have nearly the same mechanical size..... Maybe it should be ?: C1: .001, C2: .001, C3: .022 C1 is the capacitor in series with the 33k - with 0,022µF this would be like a half turned down tone-control. analogguru On my unit, the .022 is connected to the 33k. In my unit, C1 = .022uF, C2 = .001uF, C3 = .001uf. The cap types and resisters are the same as in the unit pictured.

Re: Ayan - Smooth & Slim [traced]

I can look inside mine when I get a chance and get the capacitor values. I had traced it out at one point, but can't find it.

Also, it didn't work well for me in any position except right before the amp.

Re: Ayan - Smooth & Slim [traced]

I have one. They are amazingly simple inside. When I got mine they were only $70, and I thought that was a lot for what it is. It does, however, work great with my BF Super Reverb. The high cut is in just the right place to let you get as much treble as you need without getting that icepick shrillne...

Re: Bartolini - Tube It [traced]

I have two Tube-It's. They sound very different and have different internal construction. I got the first one in the early '80's for pretty cheap, when a music store was going out of business. I really like it. It does tend to be noisy, especially when the volume is rolled off to 8 or so on the guit...
