Re: What are the challenges to designing a discrete LM3080N

So I suppose I should learn some more about sinking and sourcing current mirrors to start off with, if anyone can recommend some good reading material on either discrete design, OTA’s or sinking/sourcing current mirrors I’d really appreciate it. My day will consist of lots of research and coffee so ...

Re: Ctech - Sonny Boy

Definitely well built and the Semiconductors are of decent quality as well! Kemet, NSC and Mirco Electronics are some of my favourites , I think it could be a fun project for sure. BJT or Fet? This is a strange one from the 90s. It appears to be a similar concept to the Sansamp Classic, using multip...

Re: BJFE - Emerald Green Distortion Machine [traced]

I have a few NSC J202’s. I could send you a handful if your willing to put the work in like you always do :D I appreciate what you do for the forum a lot, Manfred wrote: I think there is a need for changing the gain of this stage, because the output level of it is limited by the clipping diodes. Re: What are the challenges to designing a discrete LM3080N

Do you sell those SMD discrete opamp boards? Assembled or not :D If not then thank you any way for your reply, I think it’s my next project to start working with then as I really really love circuits with OTA’s more and more these days and I adore discrete design and the amount of thought and effort...

What are the challenges to designing a discrete LM3080N

I know they’re difficult for most people to source, although I have a nice collection of genuine OTA’s I’ve always been extremely curious as to why I haven’t seen this done already. I understand the LM/NJM13700 can still be had fairly easily but you’d think in countries where importing can be diffic...

I have also upped the 2k to 20k, but I think it should be increased even more (maybe also the 8k2)

That wouldn’t reduce the gain much more, you’d be better off increasing the 2k resistor on q2’s emitter as well :hmmm:

Re: 555 Signal Generator

That’s very well laid out, I love seeing what other people come up with and I’ve really started appreciating test gear a lot more in these past few months. That’s a really great project, I want to do something for their Signal injector/tracer kit as it looks really useful was well If you have talked...

I've tried resizing it but for some reason it won't work. I figure for $10 CND its a great little tool that I'm surprised more people do not use them

Re: 555 Signal Generator

hehe, just remember because used to sell this in perf + dip switch and plastic box for some guy combo with headphone, K4102 iirc It works A LOT better then any of the signal generator projects I've tried up too now! Not perfect but what sine wave is. The only thing is I had to swap out some of the ...

Re: 555 Signal Generator

velleman mk105? Hahaha good eye, ya I was at Sayal in Toronto trying to find the most affordable/easy signal generator as I was starting to get tired of having to strum my guitar. I’m going to attempt doing my first layout and posting it in here, hopefully it’s a tool that will come in handy for ot...

555 Signal Generator

It outputs a 1k fixed frequency with either sine, triangle, square wave and integrator with a output level trimmer/pot adjustable from 0 to 100mVRms and requires a 9v supply

Re: Fortin - Grind Pedal

I increased headroom by lowering the value of R4 and R10, but keeping the ratio the same. I'll definitely try this out. Thank you. T. I’m using my own PCB as well which has a pump and I’ve found using a LF356 was the best out of all the single ic’s I tried. TL061, LM741, LF351, LF441,NE5534 among a...

Re: BJFE Blueberry Bass Overdrive [traced]

Yikes, I didn’t think there pedals would be so poorly built. You’d think they would take some pride in their work as really Bjorn already did the heavy lifting for them. I know a lot of people will argue it doesn’t matter but it most definitely does matter. A commercial product should NOT look like ...

Custom order. You may have to consider two pots instead, did you read through the text files that are in the folders with the .brd .sch files. He was amazing about pointing out pot subs for most of them

That’s so poorly built you’d be far better off building your own for sure, clearly who ever owns this company doesn’t know wtf there doing or they’ve hired the kindergarten glass down the street to help when they get busy. How you can seriously charge someone money for such a poorly built pedal is b...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

it was supposed to be posted in Canadian currency, not in US$ so it's actually a lot cheaper than that and I'm sorry if somehow I offended anyone. I see people take schematics and make them into boards all the time on here I honestly didn't know people would get so upset and it's been removed and no...
