EHX Ram's Head Big Muff--low pitched hiss now
Hi all, I have a 3003 Big Muff Pi, a late Ram's Head circuit after they transitioned to the NYC black/red housing. Pots date to 1975, has BC239 trannys. It worked fine for a couple of years and then one day had this noise. I'm very familiar with regular BMP noise (I've had about 50 of them and built...

Re: AMT S1 Legend series [gut shots] [schematic]
Would anyone happen to know what they did on the version 2 (S2, P2, etc) versions of the pedals to allow them to be run in front of an amp on the 'drive out' jack?

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red
Thanks for moving this thread mods! After doing some cap swapping, I ended up replacing C116 (the 68n to ground) with a 12n, and modified the low pass filter cap C136 (2.2n) after the treble pot/before the volume pot, to a 3.3n. It opened up the sound quite a bit and then I reduced the fizz with the...

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red
update... Well...I very basically understand high/low pass filters, but all this parallel stuff leaves me a bit confused (I'm only a hobbiest). I've tried to figure it out the best I can (still don't understand this tone stack real well--mostly the treble area). I decided to desolder the 68n to grou...

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red
Just googled the Guv'nor schematic...good call! Question, I am unfamiliar with this type of layout and need some help. What would I change to 1) the treble control, it gets very fizzy (very high treble freq) to lower it and, 2) how to I change the mid freq as well (I think I might want to lower that...

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red
Tried my hand at tracing the tone section...let me know if anyone finds mistakes. I'd really like to revoice it and would sure appreciate some help in knowing where to start. It doesn't match the real Ecstasy amp and is more complicated in the tone stack. I used one of Ecstasy-789's photos for help ...

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red
I'm still loving the Uber, but the more I play the Red, the more I hate the EQ. It adds treble at a very high freq, and really needs more upper mids and probably less lower mids. Here are some of the values I saw when I opened up the Red the other day, starting roughly on the Vol/Treble side of the ...

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red
Do you guys think the tone stack caps are next to the pots on the audio board, or in the candy bar goop?

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red
I love the Uberschall pedal, but my Red is kind of congested sounding (like a real Ecstasy...did I just say that?). I'd like to revoice it more like a Soldano SLO. I'd be up for providing values when I get the chance to open it up. I love the whole package of the pedal (size, layout, options, etc), ...

Re: Bogner Ecstasy Red
From the Bogner website regarding stages: "Reinhold designed the Ecstasy red pedal with five discrete Class A gain stages and with no op-amps or diode clipping, mirroring the circuitry of the Ecstasy amplifier’s red channel. This revolutionary approach provides clarity, touch sensitivity and no...

Found another pic on ebay. This one is just a little clearer. I'd guess a BSIAB with better EQ as well.

Re: Subdecay - Echobox
I love my Echobox...hangs out with my Echoczar, DMMTT and Timeline, but has better modulation than all of those! I have found it to be a very musical delay.

Re: Audio clip of common Opamps in a Timmy
That's a nice work, but I find myself really pressed to tell one from the other. I guess I'm starting to loose (if I ever had!) my hearing. Just a question: did you played the same piece over and over or is it a record played through the differently opamp loaded Timmys? Best regards, Juanro This wa...

Re: Audio clip of common Opamps in a Timmy
Thanks for the nice comments, guys. Lonkero, that was a TA7558 from a 1980's TS-9. I have found that I really like the TL072.

Audio clip of common Opamps in a Timmy
Hey guys, I don't often have as much to contribute as most of you in the way of electronics knowledge, but I remembered that I had made this clip of 14 different opamps tested my two Timmy pedals back a few years ago. I hope it may help someone in choosing opamps for a build. Some of the included ch...

Re: Boss - CE-1 ( Chorus Ensemble ) [schematic]
Does anybody know the delay time for the CE-1? I was kind of surprised by some the Maxon/Ibanez stuff, and though one of you might know about my favorite chorus, the CE-1.

Re: Hermida Mosferatu [traced]
Forgot to mention, the schematic shows dual gain controls plus both post-gain treble and bass controls, which obviously the Mosferatu does not have.
