Re: Noah's Ark - Distortion M

This pedal is one of the best Marshall-in-a-box circuits I've come across, thanks for the professional looking layouts, very nice work you've done here.

How to add an (almost) genuine F or G brand headstock logo

Right off the bat, I'm certainly not condoning fake name brand guitars nor am I suggesting you misrepresent the origin of your gear. As you will see, these labels are 100% honest, clearly worded and for anything other than a quick glance will fool no one. That said I want to share how, using no spec...

Amptweaker - Side Track Bypass Loop [traced]

Just finished up an Amptweaker Tight Metal (thanks again to JokerX & several others solid work on the tracing thread btw) and if you haven't already, I highly recommend building one for yourself, the hype is real. For those unfamiliar with this line of pedals, they all come standard with what Am...

Re: Himmelstrutz - Fitzo

I got the pedal opened up, removed the black goop, then had to remove white paint, then discovered that all caps and transistors values are sanded off. I'm guessing the last thing to do is measure each component with a meter? How do I go about doing that to find the value of each cap and transistor...

Re: Amptweaker - Tight Metal [traced]

Read all 32 pages of this last week and then built one, just finished, works perfectly & every bit as impressive as this thread led me to believe. Just wanted to stop back and say thanks to J0K3RX, rcustoms, jymaze and everyone else involved in making this a thing, the pedal sounds incredible, g...

Re: Noah's Ark - Distortion M

My apologies, I missed one more change that needs to be made, luckily it's offboard so the revised layout is still correct. In order for the volume pot to work you'll need to add a wire from lug 1 connecting to ground, that's all.

Re: Noah's Ark - Distortion M

Two mistakes with this layout, first the 47k resistor is actually a 4k7 and the connection to pin 5 of the opamp was all screwed up. I've gone ahead and revised the pcb and "layout" (this is not my original work btw) with 2 pads so you'll just need to put a wire jumper between them. Otherw...

Re: J. Rockett Archer IKON gold

How sad. It's like the Bootweak industry is trying to get killed by digital. Why buy a pedal these days? Why? Naturally I agree completely but I also spend enough time among "the other half" of pedal consumers (TGP crowd) who still to this day will eagerly put themselves on a 18...

Re: J. Rockett Archer IKON gold

Hate to say this but using the "official" centaur schematic as a guide, this pedal is a note-for-note exact copy of the original, all the way down to using the same component numbering system (i.e. R1, R2, R3 etc are even the same parts on both). I suppose if you're looking to pick up a ni...

Re: J. Rockett Archer IKON gold

Here's a couple starters to see what we're working with here. I took a detailed look at components using a stereo microscope and there are a handful of resistors and caps that aren't marked but most are. Next step I'm going to take some high res imgs and outline the traces with photoshop. Any sugges...

Re: J. Rockett Archer IKON gold

Glad there's some interest, I'll start putting up pics and details here shortly as soon as I get the DSLR charged up. I took a closer look at the guts last night and there seems to be fewer parts in this than what a klon calls for so maybe it's not as much an exact copy as I thought.

J. Rockett Archer IKON gold

Hey all, I have an Archer ikon torn down on my bench so thought I'd ask if there's any interest in some quality gut shots for a possible trace? AFAIK it may be an exact klon copy but I hafta say it sounds pretty nice even compared to a couple other klones I've come across. It's mostly SMD with a few...
