Re: EHX Deluxe Memory Boy - no feedback

Love my DMB. Nice gutshots.. thanks for that. The only thing I would like to improve, is the Feedback knob sweep. It is very sensible from about 1 to 3 o o'clock. Before it doesn't change much, and at 3 or after start the crazy oscillation. I've seen that theres a B5K pot there.. maybe som C5K pot c...

Re: Chase Tone - Secret Preamp [traced]

Thanks everybody. Just a straight EP version 3 preamp circuit, but what gets me confused is the output stage.
Image
Is not better a straight A500K output potentiometer?

What I'm missing there?

Re: Fairfield Circuitry - The Barbershop (gut) [traced]

Skip the SAG circuit and feed the 9V directly to the collector of Q3 to see if the squealing stops. How is the circuit built PCB, Vero or point-to-point? Yes, it skips. DIscovered a bad batch of 10k pots with it too  With the new KSP2222 it works. Just not good when volume and gain are at max:...

Re: Fairfield Circuitry - The Barbershop (gut) [traced]

Update: no matter how many times, and pots I put there.. still sounds like a metal detector or some kind of oscillation. Could be the 2n2222? Update 2: yep.. was the f*****g 2n2222. Used a KSP2222A instead.. the same thing. Something I've discover and I don't know if is only my pedal.. but with volu...

Re: Fairfield Circuitry - The Barbershop (gut) [traced]

How do you feed in the supply voltage? with battery, plug-in power supply or other power supply unit? I've used a regulated and filtered power supply w/LM7809. And tried a Dunlop DC-brick to check. I'll keep looking around, J-fets w/6v at Drain without SAG pot, but I assume the trouble comes from t...

Re: Fairfield Circuitry - The Barbershop (gut) [traced]

Going crazy with this one. Built and suddenly, start to squeal and motorboating. Unbox, tested everything everywhere.. Not ground, not bad pots.. what could go wrong? The main squealing "control" is the SAG pot/resistor. I assume something is wrong with Jfets at this time.. Any help? Thanks!

a correction, there is an error in the part list, the 47k resistors are R14 and R25, R26 does not exist, other hand the 5K1 resistors are
R3, R8, R12 and R24.
Years looking for this schematic. The "ultimate" version

Re: Way Huge Red Llama 25th Anniversary with Hi Cut

Is the "hi cut" a low pass filter? Totally useless. Not a good sweep/range.
Use instead a BigMuff tone stack there, bypasseable by a switch, bumping some mids and get a lot more usable tone palette.

Re: Boss Tone Bender TB-2W

Loved your video..! Thanks a lot... Looks like a normal GE Tone Bender MKII with a charge pump and/or voltage inverter and relay bypass... (all the hype is based in the crossover and of course, limited run) Thank you! There is the added feature of switching between 7V/9V/12V supply. I first thought...

I'm thinking in build this one into a small veroboard, and add before some Echoplex Preamp.
Is this one more "lo-fi" compared to Deep Blue, or Wampler Faux?

Re: Way Huge Red Llama 25th Anniversary with Hi Cut

Built it on proto-board today. Nice, sounds almost the same compared with the classic one. R5+R6 (2M) adds a bit more of gain, but cut a bit of lows. C1 is EXTREMELY NECESSARY after R1 (at least on my test rig) to aboid motorboat or squealing when gain is at max. R8, C1 and VR1 makes almost not diff...

Found this little same pcb (from Tonepad) out there. Finished it, and sounding. http://tonepad.com/getFile.asp?id=120 A bit gated, to be honest. Any hint or thread where found some voltages? As I know, the important here are Q1 to Q3. My readings, V in 9.3: Q1 E=4.4V B=3.0V C=3.0v Q2 E=2.1V B=2.9V C...
