Dynachord echochord mini trouble

Trying to revive this thing. Actually trying to get one out of two going. Recapped the power supply and boards. Also swapped the starter cap for the motor. All electrolytics were reading at least double their proper values. Initially, I had a lot of motor noise mixed into the audio and no echo. Reca...

Maestro FZ-1a sounds compressed

Hey there all, I recently picked up a FZ-1A. It didnt sound that great from the start. I replaced the 1uf caps and that made a huge improvement. Now i find it sounds like there's a cranked up compressor is in front of it. There's absolutely no attack but it sort of blooms after a second. Also there ...

Wow they really want to keep that sustainer circuit a secret, didn't they! At least I know the values which is what I needed!

Re: Maestro ss-3 sustainer pots

Either they are really cheap pots or someone was wacking them 0-10 all day long. 137 is CTS. Claiming to be worn, if you measure 260k, they are not above 250k. If you measure 1.4meg, chances they are 1 meg. Not too hard to figure out. Put a meter on it and do a sweep. Find one for sale on reverb or...

Maestro - SS-3 Sustainer pots

I just picked up one of these and it's been pretty glitchy. I tried cleaning the pots but they still seemed bad. The level pot was cutting right out below 8. I opened it up and the carbon is completely gone. Ditto for the sustain. Anyway all this to say does anyone know the value of these? I can't s...

Re: Maestro Envelope Modifier - ME-1 debugging

So the forward voltage across each diode is 0.61v and they all give the same reading. I traced it out and yes, those are r3 and r30 and yes R3 is actually 5.6k and r30 is 47k. Maestro was notorious for mistakes/inconsistencies in their schematics. Transistor voltages: Q1 b 1.4, C 3.5,E 0.87 Q2 B4.6,...

Re: Maestro Envelope Modifier - ME-1 debugging

Hello aka180! Do you know the types of the diodes? Are silicon or germanium? Thank you! 20201030_184043.jpg These are the diodes. I don't see any markings on them but I always assumed these types were germanium...but I'm not that knowledgeable on those things. I'll try to get you some voltages tomo...

Re: Maestro Envelope Modifier - ME-1 debugging

Can you measure the resistance when the LED is on and off. To make your own optocoupler it is important to know the light resistance and the dark resistance. https://sound-au.com/project200.htm I get 30 MegOhm when dark. I jumpered the C and E of q13 to keep the light on and cranked the trimmer dow...

Re: Maestro Envelope Modifier - ME-1 debugging

So the board about 2.5" x 6.5".
Out of curiosity, any idea what you'll be using for the led/ldr? There's no markings on it so I'd be curious to know what could be used as a replacement should I ever need one.

Re: Can someone post audio clip of maestro envelope modifier

So I think it is going well now. I had a bad solder joint at C4 which could explain why nothing as working. Cleaned it all up and tweaked the trimmer a bit and it seems to be fine. I've been watching demos of the boss slow gear and mooer slow engine and it seems there is bit of a learning curve to u...

Can someone post audio clip of maestro envelope modifier

Hey all, Just trying to get one of these going. There was a couple cold solder joints which I reflowed so it works now but its effect is very inconsistent. There's literally nothing out there on this pedal. If someone out has one of these that they know is working as it should, could you post some a...

No effect from Maestro Boomerang bg -2

I'm trying to get a bg2 working. Right now i get a very weak output with no wah or volume swell no matter the position of the switch Transistor voltages: Q1 C: 0.8 B: 1.5 E: 0.8 Q2 C: 9.2 B: 6.2 E: 6.3 I replaced the pot because it was horrible. So I've been occupied with all kinds of other things this summer but i finally got around to working on this again. I'm very happy to say that it is working now! I found the ground issue you mentioned, there was a break in the lead in that cardboard strip thingy. I followed the signal path with a sc...

Re: Ehx echoflanger repair

So i just some got new IC's. I put in a new 4013 took the voltages again. I'm thinking this is progress but still not there I also check the capacitor but it was fine. The voltages also changed on the 4049 but that is is getting really hot now. I also checked the capacitor from pin 8 of the 4013......
