Re: Tech21 Character Series [schematic]
I've been reading through this thread (and a couple others), specifically interested in the 'cab bypass' that some have done. I have the behringer clone of the sansamp GT2 (tm300 'tube amp modeller') and the character is quite nice but is incredibly muffled when run through an amp FX return into a g...

Re: VHT - Valvulator
I quite like mine also, I bought it on a whim and wasn’t sure it made any difference until I took it out of the signal chain. After the noise fiasco I was concerned with reliability so I built a clone using one of those cheap high voltage boost converters off eBay, so I could just run it off a 12v d...

Re: VHT - Valvulator
At one point mine started making popping and crackling noises during power-up, then they were always there but low level, then suddenly very loud popping and cracking that made it unusable. The ground lift switch also did weird things around that time. It ended up being R9m on the schematic above, I...

Re: Fortin - Grind Pedal
Pedalpcb has a pcb for the tc pre now, with charge pump.

I got one yesterday, just need to order parts next.

Re: Amptweaker - Tight Metal [traced]
I made a version this week on veroboard using this layout: http://guitar-fx-layouts.42897.x6.nabble.com/AmpTweaker-Tight-Metal-td9212.html And I’m not having any volume issues, it seems to be about the same as most other preamp pedals I have (ISP, AMT, etc). I guess you could compare that layout to ...

Re: Diezel VH4 Pedal [schematic]
I finally got around to building this pedal on Bugg's PCB. Great pcb as always, sounds great and works perfect.
I used the requisite TC1044SCPA and its silent, no switching noise.
pictures attached.

Re: Fortin - Grind Pedal
Anyone built the vero version? Mine works "okay" - all pots are doing what they should do and the preamp is amplifying the signal. But i got quite some high frequency hiss when turning the treble up (tested with different power supplies and battery the behaviour stays the same). Any ideas...

Re: AMT - Legend Amp Series 2 [traced]
they were designed for 9v dc - phatt is spot on with his comment - use the correct voltage for the correct response I was wondering this also, I like to experiment with different voltages, and often pedals will function differently at higher voltage. I can understand how some wouldn't like that cha...

Re: Fortin - Grind Pedal
I believe you guys are right about the grind/33 being a TC Electronic integrated pre clone, makes sense :thumbsup nice layout & scematic here.. http://www.rullywow.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/ChuggaPre-v1.0.pdf Yes, I hope there was more pics of the insides of the Grind/33 to identify the ca...

Re: Fortin - Grind Pedal
My original TC electronic integrated preamp has a UA741 in it. There's another schematic floating around that specs a 741. When I built a clone of it, I couldn't hear a difference between a 741 and a TL071, probably as the integrated preamp shouldn't be clipping the op amp, and it's not like guitar...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]
I got Bugg's PCB the other day, real quality board. I like how symmetrical the layout is. I both love and hate how compact it is... It looks great and I'm glad it fits so well into a 125b, but that compactness does make it a bit harder to work on. No big deal for experienced people but I can still c...
