Re: Basket Case EH Metal Muff + Top Boost
You know it works a little with the top boost turned off... Problem is the volume and output... Im not even sure if them IC's were replaced.... but its problem is the top boost sounds broken when turned on... and the volume has to be turned up %95+ to work...

Re: Monoprice 15 watt tube amp problems
I found the what I believe is a resettable fuse. It came from where that jump wire is located. So with the right mentioned parts replaced, do you guys think this amp will come back to life? Im wondering if R2 and R12 are 1k half watt fusible resistors and if F1 is a 30v 6A resettable fuse. I want to...

Re: Monoprice 15 watt tube amp problems
So the story went this amp was plugged in and running when a hair dryer was plugged into the same socket outlet and something in the amp popped. From what I can tell after the amp popped, these things were attempted to be replaced: R2 and R12 F1 PTC6.0 250v glass fuse What do you guys think? How bad...

Monoprice 15 watt tube amp problems
So I got this amp, its a Monoprice 15 watt tube amp thats suppose to be modeled just like the Laney Cub12R I think. I got the schematic for it. I was just wondering if anyone could help me ID this resettable fuse. And where can I find a replacement? Laney calls it Laney PN 007390 the schematic also ...

Hi folks. I recently received as a gift a EH Metal Muff + Top Boost that had some issues and barely works. The pedal had them IC's replaced with I dont know what but I want em back to stock... It only works when the volume is %95 or on full and it sounds real bad hissy when the distortion is turned ...

Re: Boss - DS-1 Distortion mods (what works, what doesn't?)
Quick question, How can I get the volume to come back up a bit after modding with w few ge 1n34a's and after performing the AMZ fat mod? Which resistor and what values? ^^^^Just a tip, That sounds kinda DEMANDING^^^^ BUT since I'm such a nice guy, I'll bite. First off Lets find out which ones you'v...

Boss mainly, but proco too?
Hey does anyone know if the newer proco rat 2 distortion pedals are old style resistors and caps ect, or are they the newer chip style? By newer proco rat 2 pedals I mean the ones that are still for sale on ebay or guitar center.com or sweet water, some have the updated 9 volt barrel power plug tip,...

Re: Rocktek Distortion DIR-01
Do you think the opa2134 will change my sound? Possibly, though it would be subtle. Maybe a bit airier at high gain settings, though you would have to test this to be sure. \ I did some Spice simulations, and eventually replaced the jumper across R26 by a 220k resistor (I shoud have made it a bit s...

\ I did some Spice simulations, and eventually replaced the jumper across R26 by a 220k resistor (I shoud have made it a bit smaller) JiM, you say you put a 220k resistor in place of the jumper on R26. Did doing this reduce the highs and distortion? In doing so, could you now turn down the gain kno...

Re: Rocktek - DIR-01 Distortion
Reason I ask is I am starting to do mods on this exact pedal, I want to do some of the cap changes to find the sound shape I like, and I would also like to change the IC chip. What I mean by "drop in" is can I go out and buy one of them OPA2134 chips and install it into my Rocktek Dir-01 w...

Hi I am a noob and I was wondering, is the OPA2134 a drop in duel stage IC chip?cbriere wrote:mmm
change clipping diodes for RED LEDS, reduce C20 and change opamp for OPA2134 for real Marshall type dist.
just a suggestion.
