Re: Soul Sonic - Crackle NOT Okay! [documentation]

I was trying to work this out, and am just getting a little confused. If the positive side of the cap and the resistor are both connected, what is the cathode of the diode connected to? Would it be possible to just connect the positive side of the cap to the cathode of the diode? Also, what is the m...

Re: Soul Sonic - Crackle NOT Okay! [documentation]

I'll check that out. The other thing that seemed sort of funny to me (keep in mind that I'm completely new to this) is that the only thing connected to the positive side of the power strip was the 1n4001 diode. Is that the way it is supposed to be, or am I missing something?

Re: Soul Sonic - Crackle NOT Okay! [documentation]

Hi, I'm new to pedal building and I was trying to build this on my breadboard. This is my first time doing a breadboard layout and I'm having a little trouble getting the pedal to work. I'm getting no sound right now, and I'm not entirely sure what it the problem. I looked through the layout and eve...

Re: Having Trouble Using A Breaboard

Ok, I think I figured out what the problem was. I was only getting .02 volts of power to the breadboard instead of the 9 volts it needed. I opened up the beavis board and used a multi meter to check for power. At the point where the power enters, I have 9 volts so I know its working there. However f...

Having Trouble Using A Breaboard

Hi, Recentely, I got my first breadboard (a Beavis Board), and I've started trying to build some simple pedal designs (a Electro Harmonix booster and a fuzz face). I've been using the beavis board layouts from the websites. My problem is that I am getting no sound or a very reduced sound. The booste...

Re: Beavis Board

Ok, thanks. I think I'm hopefully going to order this today or tommorrow. I'm excited to start building!

Re: Beavis Board

Are the components that it comes with fairly high quality? By this, I mean are the resistors and stuff that it comes with good, or am I better to go somewhere else for parts? The thing that appeals to me about the Beavis board is that it comes with a lot of parts, so I wont have to order any new par...

Beavis Board

Hi guys, I'm looking to get into building and really understanding stompboxes, and I'm thinking of getting a beavis board. It seems like breadboarding would be a really good way for me to build and understand different pedals, and also maybe experiment with them a bit. My question is, does anyone ha...

Re: A Question About Breadboards

Great, thanks. So in both veroboard, and a breadboard, the important thing is that they are connected, not that they're neccessarily in the right order.

Re: A Question About Breadboards

I realized I didn't really make my question clear. What I was trying to ask is does the circuit have to go through each component in order? For example, does it have to go through R1 and then R2 and so on, or is it more like the signal goes through every component at once, and then through the outpu...

Re: How To You Transfer a Circuit To a Breadboard?

Thanks for the response about the jumpers. That makes sense and that was what I thought they were for, I just wasn't sure.

A Question About Breadboards

Ok, I'm really new to this, so sorry if this is a stupid question with an obvious answer. With a breadboard, do the resistors and caps and stuff have to be connected in a certain order, or does it just matter that everything is connected? Thanks in advance for any answers. I'm getting really close t...

Re: Analogman - King of Tone

Yeah, I saw a link from the beavis site posted on here that explained how to convert a schematic to a breadboard and it really helped my understanding of it. There's still a bit more I need to learn about it, but it really helped my understanding.

Re: Analogman - King of Tone

Ok, thanks. Like I said, I'm really new at this stuff and I don't have a ton of experience with how it works. I didn't realize that was a stupid question :slap: Thanks for posting those links.

How to make a breadboard layout?

Thanks for the schematic Madbean, it looks great. What do you have the two switches doing? I also think its cool how you put the trimmer for the treble on the top. Also, does any one have a breadboard layout for this by any chance?

Re: How To You Transfer a Circuit To a Breadboard?

Wow, that's really helpful. The only thing I don't understand is what is the deal with the jumpering? Why are some of the spots on the breadboard jumpered?

Re: Analogman - King of Tone [traced]

If somebody has the time, could they post the schematic and layout for one side of the KOT? Also, if you were modding one of the GGG Bluesbreakers, how would you go about adding a toggle to switch between the dip switches? Is that possible? I just realized what was posted in this thread is the sche...
