Re: Bazz Me Fuss You has no octave effect
Have you tried asking JHS? Pretty sure he's the inventor of this circuit.

Re: Catalinbread - SCOD (Super Charged Overdrive) [traced]
They are 9.1V zeners for protection on the BS170s (a la ZVEX SHO). There are no other diodes in the circuit. I have built this circuit and made a vero, however it was for this circuit and a Catalinbread Hyperpak in the same box, so the board has two circuits on it. Probably not what you need, but ha...

I cross-posted this but the other version was in a thread about the EHX Echo Flange, and I understand how that could seem daunting. However my question is fairly generic, I think... Re: EH Echoflanger [schematic]
Not allowed to edit posts? Anyway, ignore previous schematic. Biasing for MN3007 wrong. Here. I have two questions regarding this schematic. This really relates to the original schematic but Paul's re-draw here is much easier to follow so we'll go with that. 1. Are C6 (50uF) and C7 (50uF) redundant...

Re: MXR Blue Box Assistance/Question [SOLVED]
It sounds like you have a too low corner frequency in a high cut filter somewhere. Try removing c3 and c4, and see if the issue persists. THANKS for the assist. I removed C4 and high pitched squealing all around, but when I replaced it used a different cap which solved the issue just fine. I measur...

Re: MXR Blue Box Assistance/Question [SOLVED]
Did you maybe mix up C3 and C4? Nah, those are correct. I should mention that i've checked my build a few times now. Accuracy to the layout, and that all the parts are of the correct value. I started with 2N3904 transistors and had the problem, then tried replacing them with MPSA18 (the reissues ca...

MXR Blue Box Assistance/Question [SOLVED]
Howdy All, Been messing around with the MXR Blue Box circuit and i'm running into an issue. Basically i'm getting a decrease in volume the higher the note is that i'm playing. Notes played on the low E string are loud and clear and as I move up in frequency the volume drops to the point where an ope...

Linear vs Switch Mode Power Supply & Hum
I've built a tube driver in the BK Butler / Baja / Madbean Archibald vein and just noticed something that i've not come across before. I'm getting hum (120Hz) when using linear power supplies such as a Boss PSA-120T, but i'm not getting any hum when using a switch-mode power supply such as the Boss ...

Re: Troubleshooting help - BK/Baja Tube Drive content
Thanks for the information, but unfortunately this didnt seem to do the trick (unless i'm now missing something different). I reconfigured the charge pump to provide +/- 12V and got the same results. U It's not about negative voltage reference, but a cathode resistor/cap combo which you've butchere...

Re: Troubleshooting help - BK/Baja Tube Drive content
This is a misconception, you cannot replace this split power supply with a single 24 VDC supply, which results in completely different operating points of the tube stages. The negative voltage together with the cathode resistor forms a so called pseudo constant current source. This means that half ...
