Re: Alembic filter preamp PF-6
Interesting use of what looks like RG316 coaxial cable in place of a standard shielded one. I never thought to just terminate both directly to the board. We have a bunch of this at work, so I may have to give it a shot next time I wire up a guitar.

Re: Orange Kongpressor Gut Shots
According to the Orange Bass Butler manual : "The compressor on The Bass Butler is based on the compressor found in the Orange Kongressor and designed to emulate studio compressors." There is a thread with completed schematics of the Bass Butler here on FSB . I've uploaded that section of ...

Re: MF-Drive
Based on the surrounding circuitry, Q13 looks like an N-channel JFET set up as a common-source amplifier. It has a 10k trimpot for biasing the drain, so in theory you could get away with using a any common JFET (J201/2N5457/etc.) If they're using a BF862 for the input buffer JFET, I would think it w...

Re: Help me find an alternative to 2SK772 for phaser.
Saw this over on r/DIYPedals as well, but maybe somebody can add more clarity here about which Idss bin it uses: Do you have any info on which Idss bin this pedal uses: 2SK772D, 2SK772E, or 2SK772F? If it's anything like the Arion SCH-1, then it's probably the F-variant (2SK772F). Here are the specs...

Re: Shure - Level Loc Compressor
If you're looking for a balanced, line level IO version, check out irfrench's 500-series Level-Loc project on GroupDIY . As you can see on the schematic , it already has INA134/DRV134 line receivers & drivers on +-9V rails. Here is a link to all of the documents , and I think there is even a PCB...

Re: MF-Drive
Go ahead & post the layout and I'll give it a shot. Maybe I can use the schematics from the Moog MF-101 MoogerFooger Lowpass Filter thread to guide cap selection.

Re: MF-Drive
Did you ever get a chance to breadboard this? I'd also like to give it a shot, so let me you what values you ended up with for the unknown components. I've got the Kassutronics Transistor Ladder Filter on a breadboard and I LOVE the sound, but the circuit required a lot of hacking to adapt the Euror...

Re: Shure - Level Loc Compressor
Hello, I am building it, and I noticed that I am missing a couple resistors values in my resistor drawer. Quite often, I tend to use the closest value, but in this case, I think some values are crucial to the sound (and some others not so much), so I'd rather ask first :) - Can use a 12K instead of...

Re: Shure - Level Loc Compressor
Hi, Looks like you just used the Auxout of the circuit. Did you tried using de regular out ? (The E point in the original schematic) I did try using the original output "E", but it lacked the saturation & grit of the Aux Out. I like that character of the Level-Loc, and wanted to retai...

Re: Shure - Level Loc Compressor
r10 value shound't be 4.7k instead of 47k according to the original schematic? R9 is 4.7k. The Threshold switch, along with R10/R11/R12 are designed as a voltage divider the delivers the same amount of attenuation as the original "Distance Selector" switch, but with an easier to source 2-...

Re: Dynacord - Federhall 1960 [schematic]
I have a similar tank, and this is one of only 2 circuits I've seen that uses a high input/output impedance tank with grounded input & output connectors. The other is the Nonlinear Circuits Big Room Eurorack module (based on Polyfusion VC Reverb ). The high impedance of these tanks requires a lo...

Re: Melon Soda Boost [documentation]
Then comes the hybrid Mosfet/PNP gain stage. This one is really fun, it's essentially a discrete IGBT with DC feedback for stable biasing. The overdrive character is hard to describe, and different from a lot of others I tried, especially at high gains. I was hoping to achieve a blend of Mosfet and...

Re: Shure Level Loc Compressor
The sidechain shares a lot of similarities with other compressors like the Ross, as it's a simple full-wave rectifier. Q7 acts as a phase splitte, with the fully rectified control signal tapped from the Q8/9 collectors. The currently Release control is a switch that increases the Release time by add...

Re: Shure Level Loc Compressor
I may in the future, but I don't have it a build doc or anything, so it would be kinda hard to follow without a bunch of work on my side. I've built a few for friends, so once these run out maybe I'll make an updated PCB + docs!

Re: Shure Level Loc Compressor
Thanks bmxguitarsbmx! I'll have to double check the cap polarities as I remember having to fix one during assembly and not being 100% sure on it.
I think you're right on R25. If I remember my simulations, the voltage across C9 was low, but possibly a different sign on the build vs. LTSpice.

Re: Shure Level Loc Compressor
I finally worked up a schematic from changes I made after playing with the original PCB. The biggest changes I made were the addition of an Output Volume control before the output buffer, and a modified Pad switch circuit for lower noise & to suit a better range of inputs. In addition, I added a...

Re: Gaussmarkov eagle library [link]
Be careful when using that library, some holes are too small and some definitions for PNP transistors are not correct. Agreed. I only keep the Gauss Markov library as an alternate, and prefer the Effects Layouts Library v2.0 or the Madbean 2017 v3 Library . That Madbean thread also has some screens...
