Darkglass - Intelligent Footswitch
Hi ! I know... but isnit it, technically, a stompbox too ? :) Anyway, to anyone wondering if they could make a diy clone of it : https://i.postimg.cc/bwcn1h9N/PXL-20230217-202222053.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/P5Ww4RSb/PXL-20230217-202401172.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/LXbY5KsS/PXL-20230217-202409941.jpg ...

Re: Coron - Distortion III [schematic]
re: the suspected "zener diodes" for clipping. IF you are correct they are 5.6 volt zeners, they would not clip using the avalanche response at 5.6 volts, even with doubled supply voltage (+18volts). But they WILL clip at around plus and minus 0.6 volts, even with a 9 volt supply. Why? Ze...

Re: JHS Morning Glory V4 [traced]
This is what I noticed, there is no resistor between the output of the opamp and the clipping diodes(LED). I put 1k resistor then the problem disappears. Maybe that is the reason why in the V4's version 1.5, there is a 10k resistor between the opamp's output and the LEDs. Thanks a LOT ! FINALLY ! I...

Re: Boss NF-1 to SG-1 conversion
Hi. I just did this conversion. For me there are some aspects missing in Asil's picture (post #13 https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic.php?p=153306#p153306 ). My NF-1 was an earlier version than the ones I could find a Service Manual to, it's a little bit different. The PCB looked like this : ht...

Re: PSK SCR-2 Super Chorus
I finally changed the two resistors, and it sounds awesome.
Here they are, if you're feeling a bit lazy (labelled R13 and the one next to it) :

Re: Boss - PW-2 Powerdriver [schematic]
I build my version of PW-2 some time ago using the schematic (the only one available here and on the Net) and it didn't sound the same as my original Boss PW-2. So I opened it up and verified all the values, plus measured voltages. I spotted a few mistakes: the value in Fat gyrator resistor 220R in...

MXR M85 Bass Distortion
Hi. A friend lent me this pedal, I wanted to see what it was. Basically a rat with input buffer and two separate controls for dry and wet volume, and probably an extra output boost too (that I didn't trace). The most interesting part was the gain/frequency resistor and capacitor (330 ohm and 6µ8, to...

Re: EHX - Germanium 4 Big Muff Pi EC- D66 revision C [schematic]
There you go. Double checked but not verified, but I'm pretty sure about it, and it does make a lot more sense than the original drawing. The two transistors are indeed just used as clipping diodes, back to back in the feedback loop (which, according to my measurements is kind of a waste... I'll pro...

Re: EHX - Germanium 4 Big Muff Pi EC- D66 revision C [schematic]
I have one of these on my bench. If I find some time I'll verify what was traced. One of the two transistors was dead on the overdrive side, I took both of them away and measured the other one. They're NKT275, sure, but be warned, they're not the best ones (big surprise, I know !) :) Measured with R...

Re: Coron - Distortion III [schematic]
I could turn the volume up a bit this afternoon. It's quite similar to a big muff (nyc) tone stack to my hears. Not as big of a mid scoop, but there still is one and you can feel it. Kinda "metal"-sounding. More gain than a usual 250 (but that's expected with the differences in the circuit...

Re: Coron - Distortion III [schematic]
Hi. I had the "chance" to see that pedal and mod it to be true bypass. I took the opportunity to trace it again and here's what I have (there were a few mistakes in the previous schematic, I didn't check most of the values, I copied them from the previous schem) : http://image.noelshack.co...

Re: Boss - PW-2 Powerdriver [schematic]
It only seems logical (yes I just quoted myself) I knew I'd read that somewhere, and I found it, if was in one of Jack Orman's books "Distortion pedals explained", about the Maestro FZ-1 : "The first version of the Maestro pedal used two 1.5 volt batteries as power, which limited the...

Re: Boss - PW-2 Powerdriver [schematic]
Hi. Sorry about waking up yet again dead post. If anyone reads this : there's another topic (on another website) in which someone noted 2 differences/errors on this schematic (also available here just in case : https://www.audioservicemanuals.com/b/boss/boss-pw/329818-boss-pw-2-powerdriver-schematic...

I might try and make one with easyeda one of these day, if you're interested.
Does anyone has an idea where the circuit might come from ?

Re: Smart People Factory - Red Threat [traced] [traced]
I am intending to make a PCB clone, so my question. What are the dimensions of the PCB? The enclosure is a 1590bb, I don't have the pedal with me anymore. It could be improved I think, there were 2 bridges for the ground traces, and the components far away from each other. I don't know about breadb...
