Are any of the ones you have similar to the one used on a Fuzz Face?
If so, do you have a link to where I can get it?

Rubber material for Fuzz Face
Hi,
I'm looking for the rubber material, or something similar, used on the Fuzz Face pedals.
I don't need it to be cut out to the shape used on FFs, instead I'm looking for "a large sheet".
Anyone that knows how to get hold of such a thing?

Re: Square yellow cap?
Thanks to "Manfred" I got hold of this type of cap.
Is the "straight line"(see pic above) to the left of the lettering an indicator for inner/outer foil?
Input towards the side of this line then?

Re: Favorite mods for Dunlop JDF2 FuzzFace?
In my opinion this dark sounding fuzz needs to be ran with the volume control wide open in order to get as much high end as possible out of it. (Lowering the pedals volume below "7-8" results in a considerable loss of high end) IMHO the best way to get a good sound out of a Fuzz Face is: T...

Re: Dunlop JDF2 Fuzz Face [schematic]
Once one gets rid of the muddiness, it's actually a quite nice fuzz.

Re: Dunlop JDF2 Fuzz Face [schematic]
Did the "1.8k in parallel with the 680r resistor-mod" and ended up with a total resistance of 483r which is about the original value (470r) for that resistor. The output volume is now "better" when running the volume pot wide open, but I think that I prefer the actual sound of 68...

Re: Favorite mods for Dunlop JDF2 FuzzFace?
I know that this is an old thread, but here we go (might help someone): Swapping C5/6.8nF for a 220pF cap and lowering C3/2.2uF to 0.47uF will do what you're asking for, and they are very easy mods to do! Tweaking TP2 can tighten or fatten the pedal and is worth experimenting with. Also make sure th...

Re: Dunlop JDF2 Fuzz Face [schematic]
Decided to tweak this one a little bit more: Lowered the input cap to 0.47uF - which I usually find to be a good compromise between tightness/full low end in a Fuzz Face circuit - and the pedal opened up considerably. Set the bias a bit higher and tweaked the other trim pot (for the feedback resisto...

Yup, would be one way to do it!

Re: Resistor type in Eric Johnson Fuzz Face?
Hmm... These resistors seem to be impossible to get hold of in my country...
Anyone that has som spares that I could buy?
Looking for maybe: 470ohm, 680ohm and 820ohm to try out.

Re: Dunlop JDF2 Fuzz Face [schematic]
Swapped C5/6.8nF for a 220pF cap and the pedal opened up in a nice way (as expected)! Never removed the switch/circuit board as it was easy to get to the capacitor in question, and as the trimmers for bias and feedback seem to be set to my liking (bias around 4.5v and feedback probably below 100k) I...

Resistor type in Eric Johnson Fuzz Face?
Hi, I've just bought a Dunlop EJF1 Fuzz Face and I'd like to increase the output volume by upping the 330 ohm resistor a bit. I do not however want to change the look of the nice "old school" circuit board by adding another type of resistor, so I'm wondering if anyone knows what type of re...

Re: Dunlop JDF2 Fuzz Face [schematic]
Late to the party... Just bought a 2:nd hand unit with the plan to build a totally new circuit inside the enclosure, but I find that the Fuzz actually doesn't sound all that bad! Would like to get rid of C5, or replace it with something considerable smaller, and/or add some series resistance to the ...

Yes they do have a different orientation of the legs, but I'm still curious to try them out as they were used in the early silicon Fuzz Faces

BC183L
Hi, Lately I've gotten really into Fuzz Face building again which is lot's of fun. I've got a great selection of transistors, both germanium and silicon, but this far I've been unable to get my hands on some BC183L's. I've got both B's and C's (built a very nice BC183C FF today :-) but I'm curious a...
