I built my version with BC108's and kept the .002's. I'm running it through my 5E3 amp so the brightness of this circuit is a GOOD thing . 100% stock it ain't, but I try to build things with stuff I have on hand if I can, while keeping the vibe of the circuit alive.

I'm a little late to the party but, this sounds like a cool mod to try! I have a BLT and find it does a pretty good slap back and surf, especially considering the price. But I agree that it's range is a bit limited. We'll change that soon enough!

Anyone know of a decent quality battery snap? The RadioShack ones are tormenting me to no end (breaking off no matter how well I solder em to connections). They easily fail on me and I can really use some advice. I'd hate to order something without hearing suggestions first.
