Is the 47k feedback resistor really connected to the input side of that cap rather than the transistor side, or is that an error in the schematic?

beedotman: Won't that 47µF filter cap AC-short-circuit the power supply, effectively removing any chance you have of developing some dying-battery-ESR mojo?
