Re: Introducing the Alternate Dimension: Flexible Dimension/Dual Chorus
I'm with Bumblebee, build a clone and mod that. Don't destroy vintage pedals. There's enough people doing that and ruining them.

Re: PedalPCB Blender and reissue Fender Blender hum issue
It's a high gain pedal, if you have single coil pickups it will have hum.

Re: MXR M114 Stereo 10 Band EQ
Yeah I was wondering if there was some kind of shielding that could be used. But I'm not aware of anything that will block it currently. I'm happy with how it sounds other than that. I wish there was enough space to move it or the input jack, but there is not. Also the screws for the transformer and...

Re: MXR M114 Stereo 10 Band EQ
I already did the upgrades. The NE5532s made a huge difference. It's more than twice as quiet now and in front of gain you can barely hear any white noise. The only issue is the channel 1 input is right next to the transformer in the case and picks up 120hz from the magnetic field but I have no idea...

MXR M114 Stereo 10 Band EQ
Recently got a commission to convert this EQ to 1/4" jacks, new power supply caps and NE5532 upgrade to make it less noisy. I took a bunch of photos to post here for tracing if someone wants to have a go. I have one of these of my own too if I need to check any part values. MXR 10 Band EQ 01 .j...

Re: Ibanez AD-80 Repair
A wire is off, the reverse polarity probably cooked some of the caps. Other things should be fine, except maybe the MN3005, but you can still get Cool Audio reproductions of those.

Re: Transistor Sockets?
Yeah I found out they were junk back in the 90s, really bad experiences with them. They used to make 3 pin leaf ones, I've been having issues finding 6 pin optocoupler sockets lately which I use and just cut them in half. Goes for chip sockets too, the machine pin ones are just not good at all.

Re: Transistor Sockets?
Machine pin sockets suck. It's hard to find leaf ones anymore though.

Re: EH Small Stone
Chinese ones are gonna be fakes, just get the CA3094s. That is what the EH chips are, they are just house branded. They did that a lot to keep people from stealing their designs.

Yours is an older one, like in the forum topic you linked.
The blue wire on the pot should be connected where the brown wire is, not the white.

Re: Exar HV-03 Hoover [schematic]
I agree, there's a few underappreciated brands. I've really been into the 80s DOD pedals lately collecting them. Some of them are real bangers and way underrated, there's the duds too of course. I think back then people obsessed over distortion pedals a bit too much and ignored other stuff. I'm gett...

That's what I did, I increased this cap to the pre revision value on my newer one and I like how it sounds better.

Re: JHS/EHX Lizard Queen
He doesn't design original circuits! I'm not sure he can. All his pedals are copies of something else. This is no different. Yeah that's pretty well known. It just disappoints me. I don't mind things being based on other things, or addressing problems the original circuit has, that's a clear improv...

Energy Drink
I've been inspired to create more stuff in the vein of EHX, this is my take on the LPB-1 circuit. It has a bit of bass roll-off to be less muddy with humbuckers but still be beefy enough for a tele or strat. It's an amp driver first and foremost with just slight coloration. I added an extra switch t...

Dragon King
So with the release of the Lizard Queen, I decided to take it as a challenge and design my own octave fuzz in the same vein as something from the 70s, with minimal parts and following EHX design standards of the time. I decided to also go with the "Green" theme and used the Green Ringer ci...
