Re: Rat mod to improved clean up tome when riding guitar volume?

On mine i replaced the 1Meg to vBias (R2 on electrosmash schematic) with a pot. Really helps me control the amount of bass going into the opamp and becoming a flubby mess (but its still there if you want it). Set really low the output is really thin, then into chimey, about 9/10 o'clock it can get '...

Re: Reading schematics: why stuff goes to ground

i think the answer your looking for is that an audio signal has both a + and - voltage and ground sits right in the middle. i.e. ground is not the lowest limit, if audio gets louder it gets more + and more - voltage. http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=audio+wave&hl=en&gbv=2&biw=953&bih...

Re: EH - Mini Q-Tron (gut shots) [schematic]

hi, ive got a question about those 2 diodes in the envelope. (11DQ03 or IR9830 and the 1N5229B)

can i replace them with either LEDs or 1N4148s?
id rather use something ive got a lot of than buy a couple of odd bits.

yeah, if you join the out of the first to the in of the second youve effectively made it into 1 effect.

Re: geofex 2 band parametric EQ

This schematics shows a parametric eq (freq, gain and Q). I haven't tested it but it should point you in the right direction. i built that a couple of weeks ago, works a treat. if you look at the mutron III (q-tron and neutron also) schematics youll see how it can be used as a hi pass, lo pass, ban...

Re: D*A*M - Meathead [traced]

from geofex.com technology of the fuzzface The value of the output level control has been the subject of some debate. Eric Johnson supposedly favors 100K over the stock 500K. This could have some effect, as the 100K acts as a load on the collector resistor. More importantly, it cuts more lows out by...

Re: D*A*M - Meathead [traced]

ive got my dunlop wah infront of a 'homebrew' meathead and it works lovely. never used to work, but then i made the input cap variable with a 100k variable resistor and another cap. ive swapped q1 for a lower hfe tranny since i last checked it out, if i get round to it ill make sure it still works t...

hi, just wondering what the 'trimpot in series with the voltage feedback resistor (R2) ' in tonmans schem actually gives you control of?

Re: adding voltages ?

thanks for the reply, probably could have explained myself a bit better.

basically i want to stop the led turning completely off. so a square wave output from the lfo would go from full brightness to dim light.

thanks

adding voltages ?

hi, ive built this lfo http://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Oscillators%20LFOs%20and%20Signal%20Generators/Simple%20Dual%20LFO.gif i get between 0 - 5 volts at the output which i use to turn an led on and off. any ideas how could i change this so i get 2 - 5 volts on the output? t...
