hey all ..long time no post from me.
I've a TC-Helicon harmony singer that's got (I suspect) dry joints on the AC input socket.
happy to sort out that simple job buuuutt.. disassembly is not so simple. I've removed all screws and the thing (built pretty darn solid) wont come apart (base from upper housing).
anyone know the trick to get these apart?
fwiw, their service site appears to have the odd loophole, so I found the schematics (link below).. if the link gets tightened up I'll post here if...

the original 1176 is crazy expensive these days. i thought it'd be pretty elaborate, but looking at the original 1176 schematic, seems like a couple JFETs and a some BJTs. presumably the pedal removed the 5532 differential input. and the marketing doesn't mention any transformers so i guess they skipped that too. runs on +30V and -10V, nothing too crazy.

they're charging $359 for a pedal clone, and i bet most of that price is just based on the...

And I thought that it is possible to apply them somewhere and found some solution. Hi all, I have a tc electronics t2 (digital reverb). It’s generating its own noise, when I change the reverb settings I can hear that it has an influence on the noise. I have audio traced the signal to the ak4556 ad da ic. The signal gets to there then seems to have the noise on pin 8. I’m wondering if this means the ic has blown? I can’t find schematics unfortunately. Thanks all

I want to use two 12 volt filament transformers back to back followed by a voltage doubler to power a marshall style tube preamp. The voltage doubler is a full wave bridge rectifier with two of the diodes replaced with two capacitors. (You all probably allready know this.) My question is how large and what voltage should the capacators be? I haven't found many schematics on this but the ones I've found range from 10uf to 330uf. I'm using two 12ax7s. The voltage doubler is converting 120 volts...

So I'm done with the pedal and it works fine now. As I haven't found anybody else posting a build report I thought I may just write my own.

I'm a fan of the small Solid Metal (AION makes one, too, they call it the Ember Distortion). So I really wanted the Pro version as well.

1. The Pro version gives you way more control.
2. The Pro version has lots of loops. A universal loop (always on when the pedal is on), a boost loop (only on when boost is on) and last but not least a bypass...

I got this from a music shop cellar clean out, it's had a bit of schorching and smoke damage to the outer shell, although the plastic knobs and marshall type jacks are not...

Hello all just worked on a Doctor Q and got it running and ran into a rather weird deal with the circuit. I noticed when I use just the pedal by itself the “quack” doesn’t begin to occur until 10-11 o clock and even then you gotta attack the strings pretty hard. Seems as if the circuit wasn’t being driven hard enough for the range to do much as far as having a versatile range. Sure enough when I switch on the Alembic booster on my strat the effect seems to quack with ease at 10-11 o clock where...

So. Anyone has any information on this one? It seems to be a nice sounding overdrive.

I stumbled on a blog post with a few photos, but there's not much that can be done with those. Anything more than guessing.

I'll throw in my 2c with speculating about the JRC4558 having 1N4148s and Schottkys in the feedback loop. Gain pot at A50K could point the gain setting to be closer to Marshall Bluesbreaker than a TS. 5 transistors in all, could be two AMZ mini-boosts or any other muamp...

Trying to revive this thing. Actually trying to get one out of two going. Recapped the power supply and boards. Also swapped the starter cap for the motor. All electrolytics were reading at least double their proper values. Initially, I had a lot of motor noise mixed into the audio and no echo. Recapping seemed to have resolved those issues.

Problem now is the echo keeps dropping out and I get a lot of static. If I mess with the motor switch I can get the static to stop and eventually get the...

I thought it would help but it didn't.

I did a recap, a good calibration.
I've read a lot of things in this forum and I tried a lot of things. But there is still a lot of noise at the output. I even had a spare SAD1024 hanging around, I've swapped it and it didn't change a thing. I've also replaced the balance 1K trimmer.
