Re: PAL Fx JCM 800 Emulator [schematic]
What about the voicing switch in newer Pal800 pedal? How does the "Gain Voicing switch" work? This three-position switch will allow you to get different tone responds (Voicing) in the gain section of the pedal, the change between positions will be more radical at low gain settings and smo...

Re: Z.Vex SHO (souper douper) BS170 troubleshooting
Ive made a static wrist with simple taking earth from a socket and wrapping copper round my wrist. But since Ive never had issues Ive never used it. With a DIY static wrist strap, PLEASE put a 1 meg resistor in series between your body and ground! That's how the commercial ones are made. Without a ...

Re: Z.Vex SHO (souper douper) BS170 troubleshooting
Thanks for support. Ive used both 1M/1M and 10M/10M circuit for BS170 and 1M/1M for 2N7000. 2n7000 works very well, especially if you connect it to a clean high headroom amp. It will distort just after 3/4 of the B5K pot (rev is comin). My 2N7000 is standard pinout (180° rotated compared to CLASSIC ...

Re: Z.Vex SHO (souper douper) BS170 troubleshooting
I've made many variations of the SHO and never had any trouble with the available schematics. I think your suspicion about bad BS170s may be correct. You should be able to substitute different values for the 10M and just about every resistor and cap, and it should still work. wGPlbB4AqI1cQAAAABJRU5...

Z.Vex SHO (souper douper) BS170 troubleshooting
Hallo everyone, Here Gebrey Im an expert of diy and electronic diy and Ive succesfully made more than 30 effects and some amps. Whats going on with SHO?? Maybe my chinese supplier gave me fake BS170? Maybe almost all SHO schemes are wrong? The problem is... volume. It seems that voltage supplied is ...

Re: TDA2050 (single & dual PS, mono & bridge)
I have several of these cheap power amp modules that I bought to play around with. I find it's much easier just buying a single +voltage power supply to use with these amps versus a bipolar supply (stand-alone off-the-shelf bipolar power supplies seem to be few and far between). The disadvantage is...

Re: TDA2050 (single & dual PS, mono & bridge)
I'm an expert in electronic DIY. So my skill is not in doubt. My brother in Christ, you're the one who came asking for help. The schematic are these. No they fucking aren't! The volume pot's connection is important for your issue, and so is the PSU. And it's still not clear why you're trying to ada...

Re: TDA2050 (single & dual PS, mono & bridge)
In other words.. can someone check last shematics to help me to troubleshoot why I cant achieve ±...V equal in both rails?
Im not using Transformer, Im using 36v and voltage divider (as I did initially with bridge amp) so it should work fine (if I modufied right the module).

TDA2050 (single & dual PS, mono & bridge)
Hallo everyone, I started my amp builder career with ROG Ruby, then Noisy Cricket, then Tube Cricket, then I moved to higher voltage amp IC: TDA 20x0. I've built a bridge dual supply TDA2050 AMP. Until I supplied with 36V and voltage divider (low current, ±18V) it worked as expected and louder. tda2...

Re: Mystery 1983 FX PCB
Nice co-op guys. This is the way to live!
I can agree with a Filter effect. No pot on FB loop so fixed gain for every op-amp (I guess R3 is 10k).
P4 seems a Mix
P2/P3 signal regulation of two sources of P4
P1 seems a general FB loop dependant on P3

Just found that the thread was blooming. Well done great work!!! Now I know where to add trimmers into the bass butler. Since you liked my layout, WARNING is related to schematic rev1. Need to modify left up corner section (the changes of rev2). Still waiting some parts to test and load a video. Ve...

Hello Ichabod, can you tell us which software are you using to emulate circuits? ThanksIchabod_Crane wrote: ↑05 Apr 2022, 14:42It's a kind of new power supply section for me. Why does it use that?
My emulator software seems works bad with it, because I get in the output about 0.8v.

Re: Orange Kongpressor Gut Shots
Hallo everyone I was waiting this scheme so much I started to make super compact layouts to fit in a 1590B. I usually do but this time I doubt. We'll see.. Here my compact layout. Green dot input, purple output. Grey line is -9V. Follow the path with the original schematic and check for errors. No l...
