Re: Dunlop - Cry Baby GCB-95: how to improve it for cheap
Any idea on where one can get a metal cap to place over the inductor, like they have on Budda Wahs?

Did you get your Karaluch wah back? I messaged the guy on Facebook, never heard back.

well a light tap shouldn't have an easily audible thud, I don't think. I have not found that to be the case at least.

Re: Fred Briggs - Super OCD
The OCD is a pretty dark pedal. It's popular for people with bright amps.
Try decreasing the 1n cap after the first stage, right after the "optional" 10k resistor.
Your bass pot is pretty weird. Double check your wiring.
I'm using that layout, it works.

Definitely interested, Claudio Sanchez of Coheed And Cambria uses one of these.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's just gain stages cascaded, DBA tends to do that.

It'll only go through tube quickly if you have it biased pretty hot. I keep my amps around 65% dissipation, which I find to be a nice balance between saving tubes and running them hot enough to sound good.

yeah here's their wiki http://wiki.altium.com/display/ADOH/Tutorial+-+Getting+Started+with+PCB+Design i think there are tutorials on youtube. But I must admit, it is a difficult program to master. Give Diptrace a try - everything is easy and logical ;) Definitely takes a lot of practice, and there ...

Low Profile Bypass Footswitch
Looking for a DPDT or 3PDT that's pretty low profile to put into my WH10v2. I'd like a little more physical sweep. So far I'm looking at this: http://www.mammothelectronics.com/KFSSPST-MB-SPST-Momentary-Soft-Touch-Switch-with-p/800-1003b.htm and building a microcontroller based relay bypass, but I d...

Re: Preferred PCB design software
Eagle's ability to show unconnected wires with airwires is pretty goddamn amazing. I use to get terrible layouts in DIYLC all the time.
Plus, ground pours? Ya'll are crazy.
I love Eagle for through hole layouts.
For surface mount, I prefer Altium Designer, that's what I use at work.

Re: RNFR - Green Bomb Fuzz
I figured mine out, fwiw.
looks like a bit of the solder had creeped up the leg to short on the metal casing. doh! seems fixed now, circuit sounds great.

Does anyone have any voltages for this circuit? I had some circuit boards made by Dorkbot, and my build just does not seem fuzzy and mean enough.

I can't remember offhand where the caps are for sure, but I think those 4 "corner" blurs are just some caps that were removed. Looks like he modded the input buffer, as that middle part is exactly where I had to add some parts to bootstrap mine.

Re: Mr. Black Supermoon
I have one. But it would have to wait until I have the time to desolder the jacks.
EDIT: Actually, scratch that. Looks like the jacks can be removed without it. But I have a gig in a couple of hours. After that, maybe.

Re: WH10-V2 [schematic]
Trying to find some more info on what was done the WH10....No luck.
Any chance you know more about it?
TBH, doesn't sound that different than mine...I TB'd mine, removed the caps, and added a bootstrapped input buffer.

yeah, I found it to be a little suspect that his topic came right right after a layout came out. don't completely believe his story, but whatever.
