Re: Tone Bender Family projects [verified]

Do you have schematics of the MKIIIs and MKIVs? It would be nice to compare the variants in that way. :D

Re: Jen (Gretsch Playboy) - Harmon Booster [schematic]

I looked up the BC318C, it's PNP? Do you just build it with a modern transistor that's NPN?

What kind of diodes does the Jordan use? Do you have a schematic for it?

Re: Fred Briggs - Super OCD

Out of interest what variation of the SWTC did you use azrael? The treble boost/cut? Yep, that's the one. The OCD has plenty of bass to spare when its operating a bit like a high pass filter, and honestly needs a lot more treble. Stock, the OCD has always had the tone control on full blast for me. ...

Re: Fred Briggs - Super OCD

It's 10k/1 microfarad. :o

The original has like...39k/100n, IIRC. So with a 150K in the loop, it had a gain factor of around 4-ish.

Fred's is variable from unity gain to a gain factor of 10. :D

Re: Fred Briggs - Super OCD

Oh yeah, for sure. The SWTC you used is already a big improvement on the stock one, IMO.

I used a different variation on the SWTC.

Re: Fred Briggs - Super OCD

Nice, I recently built an OCD variant with many of the same ideas.
Slightly different tone control though. :D

Re: Foxrox - Wah before fuzz retrofit ( buffer )

I'm wondering if you can just add the resistor network from here to a Source Follower? Because that's what makes this circuit unique and work well with fuzzes, right? a Source Follower just has less parts, so it would be nice haha.

Re: Fred Briggs - Hummingbird Overdrive *FINAL*

Just the schematic file, and taking a whack at a double sided layout?
Or gonna send a single sided layout to Dorkbot?

It's kind of a big PCB to send to dorkbot, considering how it costs more for a bigger board, that's why I ask. :)

I doubt you'd notice much of a difference by jumpering R2, it limits signal, but only a bit. Not a pull down.

If P2 is only a 1K, try a 2K there for more fuzz.

Re: "One Knob Gilmour" - All Mosfet Big Muff

Haha me too. Hopefully I can try your design some time soon...I should be able to build is straight onto a Muff PCB, so that makes things easier! Got a bunch I ordered a little while ago. Everything except the 470p and 220p caps before the last stage would fit on board. Are those there just because ...

Re: "One Knob Gilmour" - All Mosfet Big Muff

Cool, I always like your designs, briggs. The one thing I've seen close to this is something posted long ago by Jack Orman. Fuzz - fetmuff.gif I had read about it before, took me a long time to find a web page that still hosted the file haha. Thank god for the Way Back Machine. :D Yours is obviously...

Just looked at the Hoof thread, yeah, definitely just some sort of borked connection. Let us know if/when you fix it!

Re: Eagle for dummies

Missed your post, culturejam. It does work, but you have to be clever about what you connect to what, for routing purposes on the board layout, since it doesn't view the "resistor jumper" as one node. I'll probably end up making some parts, but I haven't really looked into it yet. Hope it'...

Re: Eagle for dummies

Doesn't match madbean's library haha.

I only really use jumpers for single sided layouts, so I might just do the top layer trick. Good call! :thumbsup
