Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

Cool. Understood. So the way that the components are applied has no significant difference between exact component in pedal and that used in the Veroboard. Great. Thanks for explaining and how being applied to this application! :) Looking forward at building this up and A-B'ing it. Still would like ...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

Ok, cool. Soo just due to convenience and commonized off-the-self components. If someone wants to swap in a different component or more closely to the original....no issues. I'd like to order the components and build up and A-B it to my original. Has the schematic been updated or is v1.2 the latest?...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

Resistor current limiter for LED?? ok After reviewing a few things, a couple other questions.... The zener used in the actual unit was a BZX84B39?? If so, why was a 1N5817 20V used instead of a 1N5819, which is a 40V?? Also, in the actual it was indicated BAV99's were used, but why was a 1N4148 with...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

Sounds like you guys have this thing 100% confirmed and verified! Now, what can be done to improve it...more usable gain instead of full on distortion with only slight variation...and how and where to add a mid control? I was thinking when I got this and heard the tone it was going to a FET-based am...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

hey guys sorry still not able to contribute other than opinion and advice. been busy since flying in thursday night from mexico. yeah, again, room for improvement on this pedal. yes, trimmer works in conjunction with gain for overall amount of gain but thing never cleans up. this is distortion-only ...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

Great work guys! I'd like to help, but have been out of the country the last couple of weeks and won't be back until this weekend! I'd like to get this design 100% verified and as a baseline. I picked up the pedal months ago and have no problem taking/confirming measurements and de-populating if nec...

Re: BJF - Mighty Red Distortion

I picked up one of these pedals pretty beat up for only $60! I'm looking to trace it. As-is, sounds great, quiet and fantastic rock tone. I think as always some tweaks could make this pedal perfect. Look forward to the design and schematic and identifying improvement ideas. Look for information in t...

Re: Friedman BE-OD Pedal [traced]

Hey guys, thanks from me for all your work. A little later to the game. Got this pedal when it first came out. I think there is some good tone out of it, but it's a 1-trick pony. I have no idea why this is even called an OD. It's a distortion pedal ONLY...which would be fine if you can adjust the am...

Mad Professor 1

Man, I was searching and looked up Top pedals to get VH tone (and late 70's/early 80's) and this pedal came up at the top of the list. I looked at the videos and it sounded amazing. I ordered one to try out andsure enough, it really does mimic the tone in a clean amp! I took a quick look inside and ...

Re: Suhr KOKO BOOST [traced]

Looks like this thread hasbeen sitting a while. Who would destroy a high dollar pedal??...well I guess that would be me...or someone like me! Attached is the slideshow to all of the photos for the Koko Boost. It also includes the BOM (Bill of Materials). A couple components are questionable as I tes...

Re: Majik Box - Rocket Fuel [traced]

Hey Guys There was a couple errors in the previous...namely the green and yellow wires needed to be swapped out and two caps on the overdrive board needed to be orientated in the opposite positions with ground facing the edge of the board. Thanks to boby6kiler for pointing this out. I deleted the ol...
