Re: PAL Fx JCM 800 Emulator [schematic]
tacianocanassa I tried my build with the smd j201s with adaptors. I get the same issue I had before. So I've either built 2 similar circuits with the same mistakes or something's not working on the layouts that I have used. Can you possibly show me the schematic that you made your pcb from? I would ...

Re: PAL Fx JCM 800 Emulator [schematic]
Thanks tacianocanassa
I will order some smd J201s and adapters and give it another go. Appreciate the follow up post.

Re: PAL Fx JCM 800 Emulator [schematic]
And thank you bmxguitarsbmx for the posted voltages. I was ready to give up on the pedal until I used those voltages. And thanks to all for the expertise here.

Re: PAL Fx JCM 800 Emulator [schematic]
Hello all I built this circuit from the Dirtbox Layouts site. I kept working on this but could never get it biased so that it didn't have a farty note decay. I even built the JCM Emulator from Sabro's site to see if it acted any differently - basically the same circuit with an added "master vol...

Re: Wampler Velvet Fuzz [traced]
JAS Thanks for the reply. I must admit though, that I got bored and went ahead and completed it before I got the reply since I was almost finished anyway. Afraid I've botched something in the build. The FAT side works but I get no sound on the tight side. I've set it aside for a couple of days while...

Re: Wampler Velvet Fuzz [traced]
JAllenShaw I am building your modified layout from Nocentelli. Finished everything and am doing the final wiring in the enclosure. Just wanted to check on something before I complete the last few connections. I notice that there are connections to Tight Drive 2 both from S1 and from the board. It ap...

Re: Umble Vero
Hmmm....I may put that 42p on a switch then. It's definitely a bit on the dark side in lower gain settings. But in higher gain settings, I really wouldn't want any more high end ( single coil player mostly ). Be nice to switch it on in lower gain and off for the higher gain ( where I usually keep it...

Re: Umble Vero
Thanks for this vero layout. Built it - sounds great. Lots of good thick gain. Question - I forgot the 47p across the volume lugs as noted ( even after pete reminded me on another forum ). It sounds fine to me as is - do you know what effect the 47p would have on the circuit if added?

Re: Wampler Ecstasy [traced]
That is a great explanation! Actually it was the 6.8n that gave me too much of the spiky treble. So the 6.8n plus the 2.2k resistor may be the optimal place. Instead of torturing this poor pedal again, I'm just going to build a second one and socket the cap and the resistor so I can play with the va...

Re: Wampler Ecstasy [traced]
JYMaze I just got into the pedal and installed a socket for that 22n tone cap. Tried subbing a 10n first. Better than before - added a little more range and treble for the tone control. Just out of curiosity, I tried a 6.8n. It gave me a little more high end, but I found the last bit of it got just ...

Re: Wampler Ecstasy [traced]
Hey man Yeah. As it is right now, I can get what I need tone-wise, but I only have about a quarter inch of sweep where I can adjust for the sweet spot. I think that your suggestions will give me a little more adjustment area on the pot, as well as more treble in the control. I usually play Strats, b...

Re: Wampler Ecstasy [traced]
JYMaze I will try those things this weekend when I have time to dig into it. It really is a great sounding pedal and covers a lot of sonic territory with the diode switching. I look forward to just giving it a little tweak. Thank you for the quick reply. Let me thank you again for the Riot tone mods...

Re: Wampler Ecstasy [traced]
JYMaze I have built the vero layout from IVIark. It is a great sounding pedal. I find that I have to keep the tone control around the last 10% of the sweep. Anything below 5'oclock and its just muffled and bassy. I used your mods for the tone control on my Riot build and it made it a different pedal...
