So the Wizard wah and the Supa-Quack both use small caps on each transistor. The Wizard has them across the transistor while the Supa-Quack has them from base to ground. Does this sound the same or is there a difference in how they are connected? Supa-quack schem here: http://www.proanalog.com/supaq...

Re: Landgraff - MO-D

Check out this schem I found on a Japanese blog. It looks almost identical to a stock Rat with a few power supply differences. I suspect it's not 100% accurate as I've heard a real Mo'd and it's way bassier than a stock rat, I feel certain the Mo'd has at least a few compoment changes. Hope the lin...

another gut shot -- cleaner build than usual!
Looks like a very high quality Japanese copy, not made by Landgraff. Note the lack of "inspirational" quotes!

Thanks Paul, looking forward to seeing the pic. I noticed the holes for the pots on the Timmy had extra alignment holes for the anti-rotation stub to fit into. I thought you were supposed to break those off, ha ha. I thought it was a great idea to actually use the stubs, I always worry about pots tu...

Paul, how do you drill your boxes if you don't mind me asking? I do it by hand and it's by far my least favorite part of making pedals. I'm thinking yours are done by machine but i could be wrong.

JHS, thanks for your input. Pretty sure that's actually a 330 ohm, at least it was on the 3 E's I looked at.

Didn't original TS just have ceramic anyways?

We might merge with the big thread.
The pic is from my Dynamic OD, not sure what an original 808 had but i would guess it's ceramic.

What do you guys think about the 390 ohm resistor on the 9v line? This is higher than most pedals and would seem to limit current/voltage.
Possibly built in"sag"?

I've been using a mica cap in tube screamers but it's hard to find any as small as those. My impression was that that cap helps smooth out the corners of the clipped wave in addition to doing what you said-

Help w/cap identification in Landgraff

Can anyone ID the maker of the small maroon cap that landgraff uses? It's a 51 or 56pf, looks like some kind of ceramic. I originally thought it was mica but the finish is different that most of the micas I've seen, which have a dipped plasticy finish. But all the ceramics I've seen are round. In th...

If you've already increased the gain within the circuit, I find that going from a 500K Gain pot to a 1M is at the stage of diminishing returns. All that happens is the Gain adjustment gets bunched up on the first part of the pot and the last half makes little difference. I have a white E w/a 1m gai...
